  • I do hope that he gets back to work in the Stadium District, he's bought up so many properties there before finishing what he stared. Even seemingly completed projects like the original Stadium District building and Block 600 have tons of surface parking where further buildings could be developed. If we had a more diverse community of well-heeled developers here he would have never been able to buy up all those properties to begin with.

Hood, you posted about this last September, but WLNS is reporting on MSU starting one of its child development labs in Lansing, but there is not information given aside from Gillespie Company is developing it on "the Eastside." Seems like a weird announcement and not to announce a building. You said the state appropriate money for a 15,000 sq ft center, but none of Scott's buildings currently has that. That closest you get is the 9,500 sq ft in Provident Place or the old MSU Building near Marshall, which is 9,900 sq ft. The Venue is all rented out.

So maybe this is going to be a new construction? Seems like for something of that size, you'd probably need two stories in a building that stretches a block along Michigan. Or...they might just decided that they'll squeeze it into one of those 9,500-9,900 sq ft spaces. I would hope for a new building
