They seem overly large; I could have seen street level signs here. They put up similar signposts on Abbot at Albert, they hold traffic signals and voice animated pedestrian signals, again I think street level signs would have looked better for an urban intersection.
They look like traffic light poles to me, no choice but for them to be overhead if so. I strongly prefer the metal poles to the wire mounter traffic lights.
I was thinking the signs and traffic lights could be on street level posts like in front of the Capitol Building, I wonder why they are installing lights at that intersection. I guess they may be for pedestrians crossing, you have to drive down the street [Michigan Left] to cross over to the eastward lanes from Clippert. Oh well they don't ask me about these things.
I had to go check streetview, there are overhead lights on Capitol at Michigan, just not at the end of Michigan which I'm sure took some regulatory shenanigans. There's all sorts of regulations around the placement, size, etc... of traffic lights, hard to escape some of that stuff. I don't hate the thought of a light at Clippert and Michigan, I'd wish they'd put one at Clippert and Grand River.
