They have also said that it was cheesy to try to imitate the old style of buildings, and it will never really be authentically old, in terms of surrounding buildings.

Putting a rectangle in a triangle shaped hole Written by Kyle Melinn For four years, common sense withstood the efforts of Joel Ferguson, the powerful developer who chairs the MSU Board of Trustees and lavishes money on Democrats statewide. But…

As insensitive as it sounds, this really isn't as many homicides as are happening in other cities of Lansing's size, and I still think Lansing is very safe. Crime statistics for 2005, based on murder rate then violent crime rate: [ulist] [li] 1…

The brick looks pretty nice. Last time I saw it, it went halfway, and they have started on the western side of the front too.

The vote is today to decide to sell the parking ramp to the developers. I really hope that since it is privately owned, they don't use it for much longer than the city planned. My guess is that ten years down the road, after they have all the unit…

Thanks for the update jwswrites. I've been by the building, but I couldn't tell what they were working on.

DTN is the developer, and I know KEBS has done some work for it. Also, I believe Callaway Design, Inc. did the design. There is a rendering on site but I haven't been able to find one online.

Well, as I went to a couple Lugnuts games in the past month, I can attest to the HUGE sign that is on the Stadium District that says "Condos for Sale", and I am sure anybody who looks at the building can picture what is coming. The front did seem t…

Yeah, that private lot behind Rice Kitchen will make the new parking lot shape a little weird. But it's up to the owner of that lot to decide what to do with it. I could see it being bought when the former Taco Bell site is demo'd for a new buildi…

Another update, the utility house has finished it's move to the park and is now on it's slab.

It's still hard to tell what #3 is with the architectural model. As much as they say this is going to front Grand River, I hope it doesn't only front Grand River facing west. As the East Village moves forward, this should be approachable from the …

I really like #2. They say that at night, #2 will glow, so that could be really cool while walking down Grand River.

I really can't make sense of the one by Hadid, the third one. It just doesn't look like a building, more like a decorative sidewalk. On the left side of the picture, you can see some height, but besides that it just doesn't look like a building fr…
