  • Yeah, that's what I was thinking. They look so nice that they should be part of the form-based zoning that the city has to live up to
  • Looks great. I wish they would have used the pavers for the crosswalks at MAC and Albert too.
  • They should put a stop sign for traffic on Homer Street at the US-127 exit like what is common in the Detroit area for service roads.
  • And Mark Meadows was quoted by ELi as saying he will have his own personal moratorium, effectively announcing No votes before he can consider the actual proposal.
  • Well, that's what I get for skimming the article lol. Yeah, it is costly, but maybe they are just doing the bare minimum legally to keep the case alive?
  • Well I assume they're not paying rent during this time so at least that money can go towards the lawyers lol.
  • They most likely skipped the DDA to save face since they knew it would get rejected by them. This is really frustrating.
  • When it first opened it was cool to live there because they had so many amenities that other apartments didn't offer and many people had friends that lived out there too. I don't know if the quality of the amenities has kept up and the newer buildin…
  • It just bothers me that the city didn't care to prevent the expansion north of Lake Lansing but is very worried about those units becoming vacant. It would have been so much more productive if the developments were built in better locations such tha…
  • I can't help but think there's something else behind this. Maybe a developer is about to propose something for the lot behind Peanut Barrel and the city wants to keep using it as a parking lot. So this is their negotiation tactic to block anything f…
  • Is the house to the north still there? I'm not sure how out of date the Google Streetview is.
  • EastLansingInfo is wondering whether the reason for the 160 foot overlay across all of downtown is for a yet-to-be-announced proposal on Lot 11 behind Peanut Barrel at the corner of Albert and Bailey. This parking lot is privately owned and lease…
  • That's great to hear! The page for the Y site is at https://develop.metrolansing.com/discussions/discussion/87/metro-place-formerly-reutter-park-place-formerly-the-lenawee
  • Very nicely done! 👏👏👏 This is a great format for a small urban grocer, especially as they will soon have to compete with Target.
  • I hope that this coverage doesn't give current students ideas for this year.
  • I don't recall council having to jump through many hoops for The Hub. The only one I remember is that they wanted reduced parking requirements. I think these proposals are great for the city. As already said, they are proposed in the right locati…
  • Why America’s New Apartment Buildings All Look the Same Cheap stick framing has led to a proliferation of blocky, forgettable mid-rises—and more than a few construction fires. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2019-02-13/why-america-s-new-…
  • EastLansingInfo is reporting that Core Spaces, the group building The Hub, are planning on building a similar building (residential only, not mixed use) directly to the south of The Hub along Bogue Street. It is very early still, but the ground f…
  • I haven't been by either, but the post says "Design proposal complete: 2018, awaiting funding" so I would assume it hasn't been completed.

  • I came across this proposal for update to the center of LCC's campus. The design is buried in a proposal for the Royal Oak City Center project as a reference, https://www.romi.gov/DocumentCenter/View/23287/PEA---BID (page 51). Looks really nice!
