  • That's pretty good that he's acquired all that property. I don't think it would be bad if he left the Dyslexia Institute. It's extremely well kept and will provide some character if they are able to incorporate it into the design. The city garage wi…

  • Yeah, currently it is just being used as a parking lot for Lugnuts games, and not an efficient one at that. At the worst case, I would like to see it turned into an urban park, with benches and tables, that would support a larger development.
  • I've added the ability to subscribe to the forum, category, or a discussion. When subscribed, you should get an email if there is a new post. You should only receive one email regardless of how many new posts.
  • Yeah, I saw it too, but I'm not sure what's going on there either.
  • Yes, the lot behind Panchero's and across from Harpers. It's going to be a large development. What I heard is that the planning process will be similar to the East Village, so I took that as meaning a project that will heavily impact the surrounding…
  • I sent in an inquiry about Lot 1 and heard that there two development entities that are seriously looking in to the site. The Downtown Development Authority is looking in to these and let the council know what they think.
  • I went by the site today on my way to work and there is a sign up mentioning the future Broad Art Museum by Zaha Hadid.
  • If you haven't been by there lately, much of the brick facade has been put up now.
  • I rode by today on my way to work and it looked like there was two guys removing the signs on the lot that the hotel will sit on. Maybe they are clearing way for some initial site prep work?

  • Hotel Indigo has announced that they will be part of City Center 2. The hotel is owned by Great Britain's InterContinental Hotels Co. and will have 115 rooms. The article also says construction is scheduled to begin in fourth quarter 2008 and finish…
  • I just added a new post to the blog with a call for submissions, so if there is anything that you have been dying to get out, take a look at the blog. With respect to the develop.metrolansing.com, that wouldn't be too hard to have background pict…
  • I have a lot of confidence that this project will move forward, as it is basically being pushed by the City Council at all costs. The worst case scenario that I see happening is that the City extends the development agreement for a later date.
  • When the front page is mentioned does it mean the front page of the forums? http://develop.metrolansing.com/forum Or does it mean the front page of Develop? http://develop.metrolansing.com
  • The City Center 2 project just got $10 million in brownfield money from the state, so this project looks like it will definitely be moving forward.
  • Yeah, you're right LMich. I need to be keep that page more up to date. It's been a long time since that page was updated.
  • Not really sure why it is roped off because the asphalt is really smooth and there were plenty of people that were going around the fence last time I went by there.
  • Yeah, I just checked and I guess it started construction in May and should be finished by September 2009. Here is a link to the construction update.
  • Wow, nice cyclotron rendering. Do you know when it is planned for, or is it just a concept at this point?
  • Moe's Firehouse Grill, located at the old Spartan Gyro (the old Taco Bell), is coming along looking really nice. They've painted the bricks brown and there is a nice sign atop the building. They look like they may be able to last longer than Spartan…
  • Yep, I don't know anyone who would disagree. It seems like some execs got a good deal and ran with it, not thinking anything about longevity, or even proximity to MSU. It's funny that a bank can name themselves after MSU, then move as far away from …
