Yeah, a green roof is news to me also. Thanks for the info jwswrites. I think we'll see more green buildings coming as there are many tax breaks for building LEED approved buildings, and also it attracts the type of people (younger, artsy) that th…

Here is a link to an LSJ story today: Surface lots in East Lansing open for new units They also mention the opening of Lot 1 for development (although this isn't the first time East Lansing has tried to get the lot developed).

The building that the art studio moved in to isn't being planned for demolition. They moved a couple blocks east to Charles St.

I just found a new picture from the Strathmore site about the City Center 2 project! It looks pretty expansive, and I am still trying to comprehend how large this development would be. Here is the picture, and I've typed out the legend since it's …

It definitely would be worth it to at least voice your opinion at City Council. It would be nice to organize a group of people who are against the proposal and get some publicity about this proposal.

I went to the Juneteenth celebration today near Sexton and on the way at the corner of Kalamazoo and MLK there was a sign that said a future office building was coming soon. The sign had a rendering on it, so next time I go by I'll try and take a p…

When are they supposed to reopen the other block of Washington Square? I thought that was supposed to happen this summer.

New Changes Give Hope to Downtown Merchants ^^ There is an article today about the growing amount of people downtown and some of the new businesses coming in.

I agree, they make that very clear. It's just too bad that the previous developer fell through. It would have been really nice to see a 12 story condo tower in East Lansing.

I got the copy of the RFP for Lot 1 just a couple minutes ago. I'll upload it later tonight, but some of the bullets to take from it are: The redevelopment proposal must be "premier quality" The project must be mixed-use with at least 20-25,000…
