UPS to take over air cargo services for USPS. With Lansing airport being a UPS hub for Michigan (outside of Metro Detroit) this seemingly would provide a boost in cargo shipments for CRIA. https://usatoday.com/story/money/2024/04/02/ups-primary-ai…

That is good news for Lansing's airport; hopefully this new service can last. Kalamazoo is also getting Orlando flights through Avelo Airlines. Granted on different days-of-the-week than Lansing. I think the competition from Grand Rapids, Flint, …

Thanks for adding the Donate link. I'll try to donate periodically.

Another attempt at construction of a 30-story mixed-use mid/high rise building in Lansing: Financier draws plan to build Lansing's tallest building Interesting the the financing seems to be a more assured thing. This seems to fall under the "I'll…

I think the ads are a good idea, if they help to support the site long term. Thanks for your efforts in keeping the site up and running over the years. I would be happy to provide a one-time $ support for the web site. Have you considered putting…

I lived out there when Chandler Crossings first opened at Melrose Apts (now the Landings at Chandler Crossings) on the east side of Chandler Rd. The appeal at the time was the new units, often cheaper than closer to campus apts, and the amenities (…

Thanks for pointing out the City Pulse architecture article. I read the Pulse regularly, but hadn't noticed it yet. I agree with much that is stated there, especially on the SkyView design. To me I guess the white panels, starkly against the blue…

Much bigger than Lansing, of course, but I Google mapped Manhattan. I hadn't been there since high school 20 years ago, so I couldn't really remember. It appears the majority are 1 ways. Probably more of a necessity there due to traffic volume, b…

I think overall good news on the conversion to two way streets. Yes a lot of these one ways pre-date the surrounding freeways. I'm probably most happy about Grand Ave being converted to two-way. Not entirely sure why, I think it just made the lea…

With regards to Cooley Law School stadium, to me it's not the best ballpark ever, though I think it is fine architecturally. Curious what you feel is awkward there? Lugnuts games there, in my opinion, are enjoyable. The Outfield Apts make the sta…

I think overall it is good news. I assume this means that Lansing United is moving up to a higher league (I recall reading something earlier about that). This may be the best move available for the soccer team. Not sure where else in the Lansing …

It was called "Putting the Fix on 496" in 2001. The road was rebuilt (new concrete) from the west end of the Grand River bridge east to US-127. They added the third/merge lane between exits 7 (Cedar/Penn) and 8 (US-127 North). The Cedar/Penn/Gran…

MDOT has a statewide construction map for 2018.

I've never heard of Priggooris Park and Holly park either. In Googling, it appears Priggooris Park is north of Park Lake in Bath. Holly Park appears to be a neighborhood in Lansing, northeast of Holmes and Pleasant Grove Rds.

I don't have much to add on the mayor's state-of-the-city, I missed it also. The LSJ, you may have seen has an article. I like his mention of transparency and road funding for instance.

Mich I agree. The westside would be lacking. Especially with McLaren's reported move/consolidation of their two southside campuses to the SE corner of Lansing. The article wasn't completely clear, but it seems that the Sparrow main campus ER will…

I suppose this would qualify as a "Sparrow Project", but their St Lawrence campus ER is closing. By no means am I an expert on such things, but I'm not surprised at this news. Seemed inevitable. I wonder what the future 10, 20, 30 years is for th…

Came across the work zone cam for the Marketplace addition the other day. (I don't believe it had already been posted.) I imagine there's some interior work still to be done, but it looks nearly complete. Their web site indicates spring 2018.

Very cool indeed. I checked out the O-bahn Busway article in Wikipedia. I'll try to view the YouTube later on.

Saw the QD article, wasn't aware of the corporate change at QD either. The QD in Holt has been closed for a few months now due to fire, so it makes sense that it would be the first store upgraded. Otherwise I can think of others that are probably …
