Wow! I go by this building on my back way to Michigan Ave all the time. I have to say it is an unexpected place to develop into housing. There are tiny pieces of the old neighborhood around this building but it is kind of isolated location. But hey …

I saw a brief report on the local new about Jackson Insurance planning to spend a million dollars on river front improvements from the Cherry Hill boat ramp to the fish ladder! I did not see anything reported today as of yet. Has anyone heard of thi…

I do not get the price either. Maybe they plan to make use more expensive materials inside, even still you can buy nice little bungalow in Lansing[or Holt] starting around 55k and a nice large home here for 100k. While it is true that some people wi…

I like that Mich seems optimistic about this one too, and maybe once Virg is out of the picture things will go a lot more smoothly with our neighbors. He displays some of the same traits as this guy in D.C. who is in the news a lot insulting people.

I like that Mich was optimistic about this one all along. I was thinking "of course they did" after last week's news, and I am going to wait for the steel going up before I believe it!

I am hoping they develop this area in a more urban, less suburban style. I am thinking of the area behind Eastern H.S. that was the last large in city space to be developed. While the houses look nice it really looks out of place in the middle of th…

I think that this building looks better that I was thinking it would. It sits well in it's place on the block.

I believe that this person has too much power over these plans. she was on the local radio saying this was how government is suppose to work! EL had been protected from some sort of bad deal. I also think she lives in the past and wants to save some…

The state owns the street thing seems like they[the city] are making a poor excuse, I drive through small towns where the state highway is also the main street. Does the state plant and maintain those trees and flowers? I think the state would allow…

Well thank you. I did fully understand what they are doing. It was just a bit shocking to see the entire area under construction, which I also knew was going on. Just like the substation I'm sure it will be beautiful once it's done.

I was at the downtown Post Office and noticed that they have removes all trees on the west side of the Capitol for the geo-thermal heating project. Just a thought but why did they have to do this directly behind the building? There are so many acres…

Wow technical read I'm glad you explained this here.

After reading the post the theater was part of the original 20th century building. Very interesting thanks for posting it.

Great photo find! This is from the 1956 based on the cars and the movie showing, also the 100 Grand River building has not been altered. It is interesting to see the facade's stone work that looks like the theater matched the building next door, but…

Lansing goes all the way down there? I never knew that!

This plan looks really good. I also think projects like this reusing old buildings are more interesting than building something new. This near northwest side of downtown has a lot of people living in the area and there are really no services at all.…

I only remember that is was always there and it must have been nothing too remarkable. I would look for pictures of the State Theater that might include the building which was next door. I asked on the other page and yup they finally did it! Yea!

Good job! I think maybe there is someone who knows what they are doing in EL these days. I have not been by, did they really knock down the old bank building yesterday?

A new "paint-less dent repair" service has opened in the former detail shop at Hazel and S. Washington. Not exactly exciting but they have painted the place and planted flowers so the building looks better. I am glad it not a used car lot or MMJ sho…

google chrome, I guess it is just me I will go around it and try to clear that notice.
