It turns out the new house I had noted at Park Ave, and Hammond St. was built by the Ingham County Land Bank. It is really nice and very affordable for a nice three bedroom house in a nice neighborhood.

The houses on N Butler look so much like the surrounding neighborhood I did not know they were newer. You really have to look closely to pick the new ones out. Wow how did those get built? I am truly hoping that the next group of government leaders …

I was wondering if anyone had heard what was discussed at the planning board meeting about the substation. The last I have heard is that they are "willing" to move it back from S Washington Ave 25 feet. BWL has got a-hold of this idea and just can't…

I noticed something of interest right in my old neighborhood. On the corner of Park Avenue and Hammond Street there was a large house that I would say was from the 1920's and was built before the majority of the houses on Park Ave.. It seems to have…

Welcome to town! While I am not a big fan of Eastwood, I do like Culver's so I go out that way once in a while. My thought about the new hotels is why are they planned for the backside of the property. It would look better to have a line of buildin…

Very well said. I think that other Ingham county towns have automatic response that could be viewed as anti-Lansing or even a sort of jealousy. Another example would be deciding how and where to spend the trail and parks money. Many saying that Lans…

Wow that's pretty fancy! If it turns out that this place really is like the one in PA. these other developers better step up their game. It turns out I can see the tops of the elevator towers above the treeline to the east. The leafs are filling the…

Thanks for posting the photos, this building is going to be huge! I wonder if it will show up above the tree lines to the west or if I could see it from my building on S Washington?

It seems like there is always an anti-Lansing bias among officials outside of Lansing. Of course Lansing is the best place for a new jail. The same pattern of thought seems to come through when ever the state or county plan to build a new facility, …

I noticed a couple of South Lansing points of interest. The Reach Art Studio on S. Whashington was installing nice new windows in the building they are expanding into, they look really nice. I had read that a coffee roaster was going in the former K…

I think it looks OK now that it is done. The building photographs well and looks good on TV sports reports. Still they could have done better in many areas that have been discussed already. The corridor between Cedar and Larch is the perfect place f…

I agree most anything is better than a blacktop surface lot. I was just kind of noting that a lot of the campus and East Lansing are dedicated to parking. Some structures look better than others, but parts of say, Albert Street are kind of unpleasan…

That site has gone up so fast, I noticed cars parked in the ramp as well. I thought maybe they are the workers cars. Isn't that the ramp was for students who will live in the new housing, maybe the university is already having others park there. In …

I am not sure if this is a issue of obsolescence, but of the same low funding. I called the LPD the other day as two men were fighting on S Washington right in the middle of the day in and out of the traffic and with people walking by. From my view …

I was by Harrison Rd and saw that they have taken down the old warehouse that served as the Amtrak station, and they now direct traffic to the drive with the light down from the old entrance. It looks [or will] great, and it's so great to have a mode…

I am very glad to hear that the fence may have been put up for insurance and safety reasons. I know the center has been there a long time, and has always been a peaceful and good neighbor. The current political discourse got me thinking when I saw t…

It seems like Trowbridge needs to be reconfigured as could be easier to get from one side to the other. The new plaza is very busy and now the "T" building [western most Red Line stop} is occupied the parking lot seems really full all the time. I co…

I am really happy to hear that the rats have moved on. I have never seen one down there. I use to see them all the time in fancy Boston and NYC, and that would always freak me right out, people out there are very "yeah so?" about them. I have seen t…

I "found" two really nice Ingham County parks that I had not visited before. Burchfeild Park in Holt has well marked trails through mature woodlands next to the Grand River. There is a really nice boardwalk along the river on the high bank. Over o…

I was in E.L. the other day and noticed the new building. It looks huge, but seems like it will be a nice looking building. I like the curved facade on the corner.
