New state police building OK'd It's still a rough rendering so maybe we could still see some minor to moderate changes in the design, hopefully anyways.

They have started to apply some of the brick on the first floor, I seen it in the dark though, so I really couldn't tell how it looked.

An interesting item from todays council agenda: Transfer Ownership of 2006 Class C Licensed Business with Dance-Entertainment Permit, Located in escrow at 500 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906, Ingham County, from Temple Club LLC to 414 Entert…

Oh, I didn't know the difference. But one thing I forgot to mention, Pat Gillespie is married to one of the Eyde's daughters according to another commercial realtor I talked too awhile back. Which explains how he entered into such large developments…

That awning is a drive-thru for the bank, not parking. I agree that they have slowed a little in their progress. And the Gillespie should be pushing construction along, time is money. It costs huge amounts of money in interest and taxes on a propert…

Heres the rendering: http://develop.metrolansing.com/?p=40

I think the Cedar Street school would be a likely redevelopment for someone like Gillespie to take on, I'm not sure what use would best fit that property though. As for Shiwassee & Cedar, if he can buy the block of buildings out, except maybe th…

I have a feeling that Gillespie doesn't really plan on having these buildings long. He probably bought them with the intentions to either redevelop or as speculative property and he will sell when values in the area begin to rise.

I seen one of his signs near the SE corner of Shiawassee & Cedar, advertising 15,000 sq ft. I'm not sure which building that could be. He obviously has big expectations for that area. There may even be the possibility that the Cedar/Larch area, …

Was that lowered stretch of the river starting to stink much yet? I bet it will get pretty bad.

I think there are far too many art museums that look like #1 and #4, # 3 looks ugly but I really can't tell much from the picture, I personally don't like #2 at all, it looks like a biosphere. #5 is different looking and is imposing on its surroundi…

There is no formal plans, but Bernero has hinted at the possibility of something like light rail along Michigan. I just wish he would make a real push for it, once the process is started it could easily take ten years before construction begins, dep…

Now if only we could get light rail...

I like the last one best also, but the first one is alright too.

I think it will be cool to see something significant get developed on the North side of Ottawa, I hope thats were the office space will go, its also where it would make the most sense.

Like a lot of the cities "green" efforts this is symobolic. If the city continues to go Green, we may just get some recognition on a national level. I'm not sure how common efforts like using electric cars and Bio-fuels are with other city governmen…

I'm still thinking that this whole Eastwood sewer situation is going to be a catlyst for some significant change in the Lansing-Lansing Township Relationship, possibly leading to the annexation of the Township in the not to distant future.

Just FYI, I was reading the a story about Harry Hepler and his MotorWheel Lofts in the Greater Lansing Business Monthly and it said that "In the future Hepler is partnering in the rennovation of the former YMCA building, currently vacant." It doesen…

I think that one was Gilespie's. I actually don't like it that much, it is exactly the same design as the rowhouses in the Beaumont.

I think they have several floors in that building now. I was really hoping to see them continue to expand downtown, there is in fact more space available in Capitol Hall. I'm glad to see the technology learning center is going to happen though, and …
