Every time Lansing Township gets brought up it hurts my brain and brings on a bit of rage, It's pointless trying to critique or make sense of their actions. I emailed a township official when I made the last post and he got back to me simply to say …

@gbinlansing Based on what I see from transit YouTube videos it seems that green painted bike lanes are the new norm, just another a way to make drivers more aware of it being there.

Not to beat a dead horse or offend, but it sounds to me like we need a new administration. I've heard rumblings in the recent past of Bob Trezise possibly running, I'd be mildly optimistic about that.

A few items of note in MSU's 5 year capitol outlay request to the State: -The priority for 2024 is another $120m in funding for the $250m new Engineering and Digital Innovation Center -A significant renovation to the MSU Auditorium ($31-$55m) -$1…

The status of New Vision has become a bit of a mystery hasn't it? Is it dead in the water? Are they refining the proposal based on feedback from the city or the public? Did elements within city leadership that wanted to put out a request for prop…

Being as how it's a state route I can't imagine the city would have an easy time getting that done. I would personally rather see that money invested into the N East pathway that's set to run along the nearby parallel RR tracks, go behind the Wood S…

There's another showing of the 108 Howard LLC project in the October 18th planning commission agenda, I'm growing more curious as to what this is exactly. The August 16th minutes do offer a few insights though: While it offers no direct details, …

A couple items of note in Eastwood: A new restaurant with a wine tasting room and retail shop will build a 10k sq ft building at Wood & Lake Lansing: https://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2023/10/12/new-restaurant-winery-coopers…

Those numbers on the parking lots are painful to see. The LSJ had an article on the Hepler development at Saginaw & Penn, not really any notable new info but worth a read: https://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2023/10/08/harry…

Agreed on both counts regarding the looks of the buildings. I see what looks like a rooftop patio over the old Riverfront Cycle, that could be interesting.
-
@MichMatters It's in there towards the end, there's renderings and floor plans included, it shows the side by the old Riverfront Cycle as leased. The costs are shown at a little over $1m so it should be a fairly extensive renovation for the building.

Unfortunately the city does not not control to fate of the South Grand Ramp since they sold it to the developers of the never-built Capitol Club Tower with no contingencies to get the property back should the project go belly up. I have no idea if G…

Yeah, "whatever" seems like the appropriate attitude towards this. I never understood the desire to leave behind the current City Hall, it never made sense to me and still doesn't. At least this isn't the LSJ building and at least it's a reasonably …

...Continued from General Lansing Development Thread... Meh. Without buying the lot next door, removing the parking and renovating it as plaza space I'm very so-so on this. At least after seeing the Boji's do a decent job renovating the Farnum Bu…

I wouldn't want to see any variances granted for anything resembling what's proposed. If they want to build it completely within current zoning requirements than so be it but the city shouldn't be doing anything to make it easier.

Already filled mine out. I mainly want individual meters at spaces, bike racks/parking and maybe 15min+ free parking. The detailed questions were worded as if they wanted input on more than just parking. I also suggested parking ramps in the Stad…

@gbdinlansing Regarding the old bookshop, I think you're talking about 321 E Grand River? I posted a rendering and story about a fairly extensive renovation/addition into a bar/pizzeria with bocce courts. I saw them put the OSB up at the sidewalk an…

I really don't know how to feel about these projects across from the CATA station, there's so much up in the air. With questions about homeless services, the prospect of an LHC managed building, unknown size of the CATA offices/number of apartments …

I missed the part in the Boji's purchase agreement that the sale is actually tied to something being built there, I skimmed for something about that and apparently missed it. I'm just not sure GM cares or that the city has any sort of privileged …

Yeah, I just didn't figure they'd be the ones involved in a relatively small scale mixed use project as they've stood on the sidelines despite seemingly having the land and resources to do things over the years. I guess the dismal office market may …
