  • I wouldn't care if it's just the house, but they can't be allowed to tear down the townhouse building. It's one of the only buildings of its type in the area.
  • I think it is 99' 4" to the penthouse roof, and the overall height is 107.' You can see the larger version of the elevation on page 171 of the April 3rd meeting packet. (pdf download)
  • Ann elevation of the Ann St apartments from the council packet: The packet also mentioned a redevelopment proposal for 514 Michigan Ave. I found this on the project "A public hearing will be held to consider an application from Wolf River Dev…
  • Yeah, I noticed that too. I have no idea what's going on, it would be nice to know though.
  • A company is planning on building two new assisted living facilities in the Lansing Area. One in Meridian Township off Central Park Dr. and one at Coleman and Coolidge in East Lansing: Trilogy Health to bring 200 jobs with new facilities totaling $1…
  • It looks like this project is being resurrected again, this time by Scott Gillespie: Ottawa Butler is back … again There's not many details right now and from what I can tell he's pretty early in the planing process, but I'd just be happy to fina…
  • I very glad to see this. It looks like the project may be moving forward for real this time.
  • The steel is now going up: Lansing power plant construction underway
  • The downtown library has a local history collection open on Tuesdays from 5-7pm: CADL Local History Also, the State Library has some old pictures of Lansing, as I'm sure MSU would at their archives and possibly some of the other local libraries.
  • They're now pouring the first floor: Crews lay 2,600 tons of concrete at BWL
  • There's still discussions about this project at city council? Is there anything new with it?
  • There is a crane onsite now and vertical construction is beginning. There is also a webcam for the project now: REO Town Plant webcam
  • It is a disappointment to see that Market Place and Ballpark North will be further delayed but I understand why. Museum Drive being moved is going to eat into Marketplace's land to the point that some of the proposed buildings wouldn't fit anymore. …
  • There are several documents on file for the Kewadin Casino: City of Lansing - Documents placed on file The one with the most details is the "Comprehensive Development Agreement."
  • Yeah it sucks, I would like to see powers allocated to the smallest levels of government as is practical. Things seem to be going in the opposite direction though.
  • You're probably right, too bad public opinion doesn't much matter unless you can get the entire State behind you...
  • The Radisson is a joke in my eyes, I don't like how the city has catered to them in the past and I can only hope (maybe I'm too optimistic) that the City is giving their opinion too much weight now. I agree that this along with Gillespie's develo…
  • I'm not exactly happy to see that plot of land used up for a casino, I think a less appealing piece of land would do, perhaps the City's parking lot on Kalamazoo between Cedar and Larch. I do like the look of the casino, and I do like the way that i…
  • The last I read they planned on building a temporary casino at Cedar and Michigan, once a permanent casino was built the temporary one would become part of the Lansing Center. With that being said, I doubt a casino in Lansing will happen anytime in …
  • It would be pretty ridiculous to pull funding at this point, especially with MSU having already spent money on the project. On a side note, FRIB will be nowhere near as large or powerful as the LHC. FRIB will be used for a totally different purpo…
