Parking or Power? Looks like LCC is moving forward with their parking ramp adjacent to the University Center. It's tentatively set for a Summer 2009 groundbreaking.

I won't vote vote Republican because they have virtually turned into an extremist party. I am a hardcore Libertarian on personal freedoms and property rights, while I sway between Libertarian and Democratic on most other issues, like economic polici…

My dad was told that the state had to move some it's cables from poles behind the Town Center Building in preperation to tear it down. For those of you that don't know the Town Center building is the two floor building owned by Cooley at Capitol &am…

I noticed that last week. I have no idea of any plans there, I don't recollect anything from the council meeting, so if there are any plans it's probably nothing special.

Many companies do look further down the road, that's why many of the nations largest companies are headquartered in downtowns. Like I say, I really don't understand these companies decision to locate in the burbs. I'm not just championing downtown, …

I couldn't agree more. Now MDA is taking it a step further by moving from downtown to the suburbs. I always thought suburban headquarters/office parks didn't make any sense, evironmentally or economically. Think about it, a suburban office location …

I wonder whats taking them so long on the brick, they seem to be moving pretty slow.

BWL Starts Work on Solar Array This sounds cool,I'd be interested to hear more about it.

The vast majority of new downtown space leased by the state are not moves from within the downtown area, they are usually from offices out of the downtown area. The state still has tons of relatively small scattered offices in and out of downtown. T…

I agree that residential is a stronger sector downtown. But there is still more office than there will ever be residential. There is still no significant vacant class A or B office space, whether it's leased by the state is irrelevant. Also, don't b…

I know that something will go here. But I wouldn't say that this more likely to happen than the Lenawee, there will be a lot of condo units getting built in the next 3 years or so, but the only significant new office space will be the Lenawee. The o…

I know that they don't need a for-sure floor count, that could even change after construction has begun the way they've been designing this project. I'm becoming more worried that this project either won't happen at all, or it will be severely delay…
-
And they were quoted in the last news article about the project as saying it will be 14 floors or taller. I'm beginning to wonder how solid this project really is.
-
It's about time they updated their site. They really didn't add any useful information though.

When I talked to the guy running it I figured they grossed about 100-130k per year @100% occupancy off the washington lot. They charged like $120 per month in that lot, the ones closer to their HQ probably cost at least that much.
-
They have owned the lot in the 400 block for at least a couple years, they've had ellis parking running it for awhile. About 6 months ago there was talk of someone buying but I can't remember who, I beleive it was a developer, either hepler or towns…

The renderings show Grand River continuing as an avenue past Bogue, so maybe thats part of their plan.

And Grand Rapids is also close to getting some sort of system, their metro size is closer to 750,000, but their ridership levels are significantly lower than CATA's. And as far as I know they don't have a specific route that sticks out among the res…

I'll post the images here: Let me just say, I am very impressed with this project and I can't wait to see it completed.

I'm pretty sure it would be successful. And I would say that a light rail line (or similar type transit) between Downtown EL and Downtown Lansing is inevitable, it's just a matter of when. Although I would say it should start at the CATA station and…
