  • I'm for the library millage myself. I believe the package of improvements they put together is great, and well worth the money spent. With that being said this is going to be a hard millage to pass.
  • I don't know of anything specific, but if it appears work is going on someone must be moving in. Now I'm really curious as to who it is.
  • I don't think the development would feel complete if the Dyslexia Institute stayed, and I don't think Gillespie will leave it there, given a choice. I definately don't want to see that house tore down, either. I really wish they would move it somewh…

  • Also, has anyone noticed that it looks like Gillespie has aquired all the property for Ballpark North except the old house and the City's Garage? Everything else appears to be vacant now.

  • I seen something in last weeks building permits about some repairs to that property, not sure what though. I just wish they would tear it down and put it on the market.
  • Some pictures of the renderings in EDC's window:
  • I managed to get rid of most of the glare; here's DBI: Cedar St School
  • I already have a picture of it, it doesn't look great through the glass. It's on a work computer so I'll have to post it tomorrow.
  • It was on their construction website as if the work has already started, so I don't know.
  • Just FYI, DBI is going to be rehabbing their building at 912 E Michigan. They have a rendering in the EDC's window, and the building permit was listed in todays LSJ, the most significant change is that there will be windows on the third floor.
  • I found a rendering of the Recycling center: Also, the Cyclotron:
  • I don't either, it always seems that banks and insurance companies have the largest, most prominent downtown buildings. Just think if all, or most of the banks and insurance companies around here were downtown. Downtown would have so many more big b…
  • If the cab company is holding out the city could use eminent domain, since their property is wanted for the new city lot, not the development itself. I doubt that will happen though, it would be horrible PR.
  • MSUFCU built such a nice building, in such a horrible location. They could of built downtown Lansing or East Lansing, it would of made for a pretty good sized building.
  • I don't beleive that is the issue. What I had heard was that he wanted to get going on Ottawa @ Butler, then once that got on track, he would get going on this. The impression that I got was that everything is basically in place for the project to m…
  • Some updates from today: Work seems to be slowing slightly, they are almost done with the half of the building they have been working on.
  • I talked to someone at the EDC and they said that the project IS expected to happen but the timeline is unknown. They said there is still a chance it could break ground this year, but thats doubtful. He said that it will most likely break ground som…
  • I wish I was in the position to buy one of these condos. Where did you hear that a grocery store would be moving in there? That would be great if its true.
  • I really wouldn't want to see that building rehabbed, I want to see it razed for something new, something significant.
  • I really don't know what I would like to see in this site. I wish that more developers, politicians, ect, would check on this site and others like it, that would be great. There is a lot of potential in a lot of different directions for this site, I…
