  • And this garage will really open the door for more high-density, mid to high rise development in that immdediate area, which is a great area for downtown to expand into.
  • Any other details on progress or anything on Coleman Corners and Abood's project?
  • I would assume it's not a final design, but it looks like it will add some decent height to that stretch.
  • I found some renderings and site plans for the proposed lcc ramp and classroom building. They are from the Campus Master Plan. Outline of new classroom building to be 4 floors/70,000 sq ft, with a bridge over Shiwassee from the A&S building o…
  • I sort of think that LCC will go ahead with building their new ramp on the University Center property. The N Capitol Ramp is near the end of it's usable life, on one hand it would allow them room to expand in the future, but they would be buying an …
  • If he doesn' the city would likely allow him to move forward. Then the city could take the property under emminent domain, or they could just deal with less parking.
  • I was just thinking of something else I expect to happen in 2008. I think there will be something announced regarding the Knapps building, I've heard a rumor or two, I think somethings up.
  • I can't understand why anyone would be encouraging them to leave up a huge, obsolete factory next door to them. Especially when they have an opprotunity to see the properties get redeveloped, even if not in the immediate future.

  • I seen that before, I guess I'd actually have to see it get built to know if I like or not.
  • I think that the design is horrible. It means that this new museum will go unnoticed just like the current one. I think it's really really plain and boring. And with this design chosen I can say I don't care about this project either way anymore.
  • I can't wait to see what happens to these sites. Now with these two places coming down there is a HUGE swath of land right in the middle of the city. I just hope they don't do an industrial park or something.

  • It's a touchy market because nobody knows when the limit will be reached. Right now developers are simply filling pent-up demand, who knows how many units can be absorbed into the market. I seen in the LSJ some time ago that a company that did a sur…
  • I thought I heard that there were some talks about a new hockey arena, any idea if it's true.
  • I think the two developments will appeal to very different people though. Ottawa @ Butler is meant to appeal to a wider variety of people, including families and more traditional suburban dwellers. Kalamazoo gateway is targeted more towards urban dw…
  • Coleman Corners Siteplan (from studio intrigue's site):
  • Strathmore updated their site, there are elevations for all buildings and several renderings, all in pdf format: MMP
  • Construction has begun, they are ripping up the lot and there is a small crane on site, I assume to drill the footings.
  • I am SO happy to see something like this go up in Detroit, it looks like something you'd see in Chicago. I just hope we can get some of that kind of architecture up here in Lansing. $150-million complex planned for downtown
  • According to LSJ's local news briefs, they will announce the winning design January 15th.
