  • I think there is plenty of room for even more entertainment options on both Washington and Michigan. I think there needs to be at lease 2 "big-city" style clubs, like X-cel and any number of additional bars similar to The Firm and Tavern on the Sq. …
  • I have gone from eagerly awaiting this project to hoping it falls through. I can't get over how ugly this will be and how much permenant surface parking it will create.
  • from this weeks City Pulse: City, LCC exploring Capitol Ave. as site for performing arts center I actually think that N Washington/Capitol is a better lotaction for a performing arts center. It would help this area so much more than it would help…
  • Its on the south side of Michigan, I think the first building west of the train tracks. I'm still not clear if they are adding a second floor to just the one storefront or to more than that one. Here's a pic of the building from the assessors site:
  • It looks like they have started working on that building in the 600 block of e Michigan that they were supposed to add the second floor to.
  • I just wanted to quote this paragraph from this weeks City Pulse regarding the developers intentions on this project: "They say they hope to start revamping the parking garage and putting in the foundations for the condo tower by the end of this ye…
  • If thats the case then Lansing should offer some really good deal to get Auto Owners to move downtown. Maybe a free piece of city owned downtown land and some tax abtements, I think it would be worth a shot at least.
  • I doubt this will effect their new HQ in Dewitt. However this will be nice to see because of the 80 high-paying jobs.
  • This development will probably be spread out in quite a few phases. It's going to be really, really hard to get a grasp on what this project will look like completed until it is actually completed.

  • Jared, I created a project page for this, so if you can add it to the list that would be great.
  • The rendering looks pretty good, although I'd rather see them leave the S Grand Ramp as-is, so that it can be tore down for another development in the near future.
  • That is great. I really hope they they consider putting in some ground floor retail further to north and/or along the freeway.
  • Being someone who is persuing a development project just around the corner from Stadium District I have to disagree with this "only use Lansing companies" philosophy. The main (if not only) options for a project this size in Lansing are Christman, G…
  • I really hope they continue to redevelop this area. This area is sort of an eyesore and having nicer and/or larger buildings viewable from the freeway (not only here but all around Lansing) can really help to improve our image to people passing thro…
  • I shop and eat downtown when I can, when I get the money I plan to move downtown, and I just got a new job downtown, so I consider that a decent track record.
  • Granger, Christman and Clark all do work nationally. In fact Granger is GC for the new Marriot in Grand Rapids, and I'll bet they used their own people from Lansing to do at least some of the work. On the Stadium District I'm sure Fryling will end u…
  • I agree that Bernero is taking too much of the blame for many things. The owner of that shoe store seems to be a nice guy and everything, but he must understand that the CSO project is something that has to be done and has been running on schedule w…
  • Welcome concerned taxpayer, its always nice to have a new voice. On the subject of why there are so many out of town workers there, I think it is simply because Gillespie chose to use Fryling a Grand Rapids general contractor, and they brought in…
  • Me either, feel free to talk casually about your opinions and ideas, thats about all us frequent posters do.
  • They are making a lot of progress on the steel, I wouldn't be suprised to see the entire eastern half of the structure completed this week, maybe even started on the other half.
