I asked my dad to try to find out more, besides that I don't think there are many more places to look for info. Lmich, what was that link to, it's just coming up with a login screen.

Its good to see this, especially the distribution center expansion, it just means more jobs. Some actual decent entry level jobs.

My dad heard at work last week that this was approved by the capitol outlay comittee last Thursday, they also passed a timeline with completion set for 2009 or 20 months.

Just FYI, I noticed a model of what looked like a quite tall building in Studio Intrigue's fron display window driving by today, it was hard to see from the road, it is small and all white. At some point i'm going try to get a closer look at it. Sin…

I was just by there this morning and it looks like they are starting back on that stairwell they took apart the week before last.

This structure is actually leased, so it will count in the office market vacancy reports. However since the majority, if not all the employees moving here will be from State-owned space, it will actually lower the vacancy rate further, but won't hav…

Weird huh? It was a stairwell, they had it up to about ten feet. I would assume they discovered some sort of defect, so they had tear it back down.

Yeah, I have really got to force myself to go out and take some pictures, between the bad weather and just not having any free time I've gotten behind. So many projects have progressed since anyone here has done a photo update...

This is going to look SO nice, I can't wait to see the finished product. ANd Maybe more importantly North Washington will get a real chance at some redevelopment, it ought to be interesting.

Since the scope of this is pretty well set now, I wonder where they will go with architecture and the size of the museum and library individually. I hope that Impression 5 will become a state of the art science museum at least on the level of the on…

Yeah it was about the Lansing Chamber of Commerce, after 7 days the only way to view LSJ articles is to either pay or view googles cache of the article. Also, they have started building the stairwell/elevator shaft today.

Class A rates are always lower than the overall rates, but in Lansing's downtown it has still stayed above 10%. As for any new buildings, the possible Capitol View expansion, the Association project and whatever else may be in the works

Just an update from the new CBRE market report, the downtown class A office vacancy is just 8%, so it continues to look better for the possibility of new office space downtown.

I wonder if he means it will occupy the whole block or just the Oliver Towers site? I assume he means just the Oliver Towers Site, and they would leave the Parking lot as is until there becomes a greater need to develop it, maybe into that new city …

As much as I'm dissapointed this won't be downtown, I'm happy to finally see a large building go up in that park. It needs a big anchor tenant to help draw other companies. Even on an 11 acre parcel, I would expect the 100,000 sq feet to be on at le…

This idea is definately out there and I don't see it gaining much support, the idea of mixing housing for the homeless with market rate is crazy and regardless this is a horrible location for a homeless shelter/housing. Plus there are already severa…

Many downtown museums (especially science ones) are well over 2 floors, given those are typically in larger cities. However I feel that the city will either build this thig right or not at all. I want to see the library be at least 6 floors and the …

I missed the State of the City and the council meeting. As for being optomistic about not having surface parking, I really don't think it's that far out there. In Lansing property value has not been the driving force for things going taller, it h…

Oh well, I really think the project is more viable than Matt let on. He estimated the cost at $3-4 million, it would have had over half the units of stadium district and cost less than third of it. In fact I would expect any new project here to be d…

I HIghly doubt you would see any surface parking, and probably not a parking garage onsite. LCC is planning on a second ramp on the Old Central site and the North Capitol ramp is not to far off from needing to be rebuilt, likely larger than before.
