For all we know the gas station could be reopened, its hard to say for now. If it is redeveloped I'd be happy with something three to four floors, somthing that doesn't stick out, but simply blends in. It would offer some great infill. I really hope…

Couple things from the LSJ midday updates: Lansing EDC, Principal Shopping District move to new site, I really wasn't expecting them to move in so quick, I thought their move was still a month or so away. City opens new section of river trailI…

I just seen it, I also noticed a construction trailer at the rear of the parking lot. Once again I assume that it is for Stadium District because it isn't near any of the CSO stuff. Now hopefully we can see some sort of construction start in the nex…

I think 4 floors is good infill for Old Town, and nothing over 6 floors should go up. I think I seen in one of the articles on the Temple Club closing that the River North project would be like 22,000 sq ft total. So I would guess average unit size …

That seems pretty small, but the important thing is that it looks good from the street, if it doesn't go deep thats fine. I just can't wait to see the renderings.

From this Mondays council meeting: "In consideration of the establishment of a new Neighborhood Enterprise Zone (NEZ) entitled "The River North" District #20, approximate boundaries; East Grand River Ave. to the north, Burchard Park to the south,…

I did a quick search through the council agendas and came up with nothing, which is suprising because I thought I remember them going through this quite a bit. But the best info I can find is in this story from a week ago: Lugnuts Stadium Getting Ma…

From CPIX, a real-estate listing service. They also show that only 3000 sq ft of office space is still available (out of about 12000) and 9500 sq ft of retail (out of 25000). Also, Jared, I updated the rendeing on the project page so can you upda…

A flower shop is typically not busy to begin with, besides it seems a flower shop downtown is inconvenient. It seems halve the people who buy flowers don't even want to leave their house to begin with, let alone deal with downtwn parking when there …

Found a new rendering of the Beaumont, its the building with ground floor retail: Looks interesting, the first of two buildings like this should be getting finshed before too long.

Found a new rendering for the Stadium District: It has it's pluses and minuses, the only thing I don't like is the middle, and how it doesn't have windows. But other than that I like the look of the rest of the windows better, the balconies and…

There was an article, I think in the LSJ, a little while ago about that. Bob Tresize gave that same story about the investor, at the time the move wasn't finalized. I think there current office is in a basement or something, and they are supposed to…

Well creating a historic district would have been more effective a few years ago when there were more buildings still in need of restoration, but late is better than never. Hopefully it can be a tool to force better design practices. I was by th…

A story from WLNS a couple days ago: Lugnuts Stadium Getting Makeover I'm glad to see this, hopefully the improvements include some to the outside too, like new signs in front. Also, there is still no sign of activity at the Stadium District sit…

In respnse to the story on the front page of the site about the Entertainment Espress, specifically about how extending the route 1 hours could be good enough. I really don't think so, first it would have to run until almost three, but besides that …

Smoking tobacco out of a hookah is new to me. I sort of doubt that it will be successful, but maybe with the university it has a chance.

I think that businesses like this downtown may well continue to close if they don't change with the rest of downtown. they must update their interior and facades to match the rest of the buildings around them. This building in particular is part of …

I looked on DSA's website but didn't find anything on the University Center, how did you find these? Also, for an update it looks like they are starting on the addition itself, they have the portion of the wall knocked out where the walkway will …

I can't wait to see some of these MSU projects come to fruition. MSU has been lagging behind the other universities it seems, as far as new construction goes. Being the largest university in the state, they really deserve more.
