Yeah, Logan Square is going to make for a helluva redevelopment project someday, I'm not sure what exists now will ever be able to be put to good use though. I think the only way to bring life to that property would be to raze everything there and b…

As someone who spends a lot of their time driving all around the southside, I'd have to agree with you. To point out the positive first, things do seem to have bottomed out somewhere in the last 5-15 years and are slowly getting better. It'd be easi…

My logic is that I doubt they'll just be able to build a foundation that close to the outfield wall without disturbing it. Therefore I figured they would already be digging fairly deep under at least part of the building to do whatever they have to …

Yeah, I can't tell. But even with the ramp, you'd still have about 3/4+ of the basement that could be used for parking. I'd imagine having to put that ramp in already goes a good ways toward what they'd have to do for underground parking.
-
The ramp is under the building itself, it comes in off of Cedar. If you look at the renderings you can see that there's no first floor (you can see clouds and trees though the building in the close up rendering of the overhang) on the east side of t…

I think the restaurant is the building at the northwest corner. At the northeast corner there's no first floor for the length of that overhang, it's the ramp to the field. That's one of the things I was trying to decipher in the rendering because th…

I'm glad to hear that Zoobies is doing well. I had some doubts about how they'd do in that block. Hopefully this will mean better things for the eastern edge of Old Town, especially the old Temple Club. Is it just me or does it seem that Lansing …

I'd have to disagree with you on a few points. I don't think the building should be moved back at all, for one, its current placement should allow Museum Dr to fit just north of it. The current plan does put a walkway going around the outfield and I…

No, I don't see a through street in the renderings. I was just saying that this would likely allow for a through street in the same spot the casino site plans showed there being one.
-
Yeah, I don't think this will have an effect on the casino plans either way. If anything it's being built to fit in with those plans, the building will probably still allow for the realigned and extended Museum Drive. I attached a satellite photo be…

I agree that his place would fit perfectly in Old Town. I hope he has success in moving there.

I was gonna say the same thing, developments seem to be picking up like they were. If only we can get a high rise... From looking at the rendering, I'm thinking that this will only use up the land that the city garage sits on, looking at the sate…

I think the only existing retail space down there big enough for a decent grocery store would be in Knapp's, and that doesn't seem too likely. I was thinking maybe around St Joe & Washington would be a good spot for new construction. There are a…

Apparently, the City is developing a formal plan to lure a grocery store downtown: Supermarket could be coming to downtown Lansing

Most importantly for me, I do not want to see the building renovated. I feel like if it were renovated it would make the development of anything worthwhile on the site unlikely. I've always wanted to see a high rise on the corner, at least 20 flo…

GM announced it will be seeking tax incentives for a 225k sq ft, $162 million stamping plant: GM to build $162M stamping plant at Lansing Grand River, add 65 jobs

Yup, and if I remember right the city limits stop at the west and south edge of the trailer park. I've taken deliveries there and I have to say, it's horrible. The roads are hardly roads and the trailers themselves are about the worst that I've s…

I just thought this was an interesting development-related story: The World's Most Advanced Building Material Is... Wood I'd like to see a building like this around here. Anything that's cheaper, greener and can draw positive attention seems like…

But I do think this is positive and appropriate for downtown, there will be ground floor parking in an area that probably can't support retail, with four floors of residential above. It's also an innovative concept in it's construction. I just think…

I don't expect every project in Lansing to be a well layed out mixed used project with underground garages and/or parking ramps and what not. These type of modular apartment are at least interesting, and if you think that they can't be high quality …
