I'm guessing that they were planning on the new city market and riverwalk to already be under construction by now.

Deal reached on Old Town's Temple Club This is good news, they said that they expect to turn it into office space and renovations are to be done by early 2010.
-
That's nicer than I thought, they actually got creative with it.

Wasn't there supposed to be another smart zone established around downtown, or did that already happen?

I'm sure the major transportation system would be BRT or light rail. I hope this goes through, if he can't get the full $110m hopefully he focuses on that new transit line instead of buses.

I agree that reducing the demand for downtown parking in a city like Lansing isn't feasible without losing the people who parked there. However, I would hardly say that having a ramp on Washington is no different than Capitol or Grand. Washington sh…

There's a lot to digest from all these posts, so I only really have a few points. First, Mr. Hewitt, you said something about AF expecting visitors for shopping and dining, does that mean there will be some public space in the building? I have…

Did anyone know that the sesquicentennial parade is this Saturday? It's supposed to be like three hours long.

I think your council predictions will be accurate (I don't know about Lawless though), but would Wood's term on council continue if she lost or is that also coming up this election?

I would love to see more large buildings in EL, within reason of course. Regardless of what some EL residents would like to think, EL is not a quaint little town, it is home to a major university so they need to start acting like it. Larger building…

This sucks for the City, LCC and especially for nearby residents. Oh well though, we'll see a nice new parking ramp and more than likely the N Capitol Ramp will not be replaced or rehabbed when the time comes to tear it down.

They have had a sign up that said "Grill & Bar Coming Soon" since Famous Taco closed, the owners of the Famous Taco were supposed to run the new place. I haven't heard anything about this place, so any news or details would be new to me.

Hopefully that will be the worst news about this we hear.

I would love to see some cuts in the corrections department, but I think that changes in some laws and sentencing guidelines would need to be changed before that became realistic.
-
Wow, I was expecting that to happen in the fall.
-
I'll have to wait and see before passing judgment on this, but it sounds promising.

Not a bad looking building. It's way better than most of the apartments in EL.
-
This may seem all bad, but if something nice is rebuilt with fat insurance check, it could be the best thing to happen to REO Town. REO Town is lacking any new construction and if something reasonably nice is built here it could be just what the are…
