Marscot is off Miller Rd, between Pennsylvania and Aurelius
-
Correct, MichMatters. Walter and his wife had two grandsons, Mark and Scott and that's how the SE Lansing development got the name, 'Marscot'. On another historical note, Walter Neller also founded 'Lansing Civic Players'.

I think they may have added another floor in the intervening years. State Theater was behind the larger building on Abbot.
-
Yup!

Found this article on the building. Might be what it originally looked like? http://kevinforsyth.net/ELMI/state-theatre.htm

I haven't had that problem.

The original Holiday Inn of South Lansing was at the site of the Magneson. I know this because when I was a pizza driver during college years (Late 70's) I was robbed at gunpoint there. The homeless motel is now at the Burke - a donor helped them …

That's impressive, David!

Has anybody heard what's going on at the old Pro Bowl site? It appears they have graded the northern portion and it looks like ground plumbing is installed. I'm curious, any clues?

The old school on the corner of Holmes and Pleasant Grove was called "Pleasant Grove Elementary". After that, I believe it was "New City Academy". Malcolm X attended Pleasant Grove Elementary.

I believe REO Town's "Border" is Cedar St (East) the Grand river(West) Malcolm X (North) and Mt Hope (South). Some people refer to the area south as "SoMo" (SOuth of MOunt Hope)

Sure! This administration has been all about transparency, right? (insert sarcastic face here)
-
I believe the development on the south side of St Joe is going to be a warehouse for Ferguson Inc. They currently have a location near REO Town.

The vintage resellers will be moving into "REO Marketplace" in the old Foliage Design building. It looks to be something like Ferndale's "Rust Belt" . Should be a definite addition to REO town.

Nice pictures!

As a last resort, the mural is detachable.

And Froggy will still play often, and the Unicorn will live on!

@MichMatters You doubted my source? JK

Just found out that the restaurant will be the second 'Pablo's'. Yay!
