I don't know if anyone has said anything in a while, but thank you for all of this. I know it's basically just a labor of love, but I appreciate all the work you do to support this.

I'm sold. Lets do it.

What happens to Target if they kill this? Does Target seemingly onboard push the needle at all?

Yeah, I saw that. Giltner is one of those buildings that it would be a shame to lose it's presence on campus, but I had classes in there 15 years ago, and it wasn't in super shape then.

Looking further in the doc though, it seems like that's not part of the motorized vehicle planning.

Tearing down Ramp 2 and the Bessey extension would make a prime location for a new (larger) parking ramp, absorbing the lot behind the building there.

Having never really been involved in "Greek life" I have to admit I'm surprised that fraternities/sororities have the capital to pull off building something like this. It just seems like something from days long past to me. But, I guess I don't re…

I went their one time for a work lunch, but I didn't have to pay.

At the very least it would be nice if they'd tear down the buildings on Grand River. What a depressing entrance to the city.

I had to go look at this on Google Street View to see what you were talking about. Jeepers, that's terrible.

Everything seems to work ok for me.

I have an aunt that loves Max and Erma's, she always wants to go there. I don't get it either.

I lurk, but mostly because I've moved away (CA) and just enjoy trying to keep up with what's going on "locally". I don't have a lot to actually contribute.

Oh, huh. I mean, it's cool, but would people see it? That's like parking and loading docks, right? I guess I thought this would be somewhere more visible.

Can someone explain to me where the wall is that they want to convert into a fountain for the drain? I can't quite wrap my head around where it is.
-
That was a terrible sentence I just wrote.

I'll defer to the majority. This is far from my area of expertise. Since we've moved out here the difference in how often and well roads are maintained out here really stands out to me, as compared to what I see when I go home, really stands out e…

We're near Tahoe though, and they get way more snow (albeit with lower temperatures). The roads there are still in great shape. It's a major tourist area though, so maybe that plays into it.

I live in a strange world out here in CA, where all these people I'm surrounded by complain about their taxes, but don't realize how much better their infrastructure is than a lot of parts of the country. And then I talk to family/friends back in M…

If they're going to rework the commuter and staff parking into greenspace, they could just be planning on expanding Shaw in that section to a 3-4 lane road. The merge in front of Shaw by the planetarium is pretty weird though.
