Was told by someone connected to Envie that Troppo is closing in the summer.

Just to add to your "the land is valuable for parking, even though it isn't urban-valuable" point - I work at LCC and do NOT drive there. The faculty contract guarantees all faculty a parking spot, and if you give it up the college will give you...…

Say - are the rents for restaurant space downtown just too high? Was just thinking there are places on the Washington Square strip that I'm pretty sure have been vacant the entire 5.5 years I've worked at LCC. There's no need for that - there IS d…

As part of my continuing crusade to get some more crosswalks on Michigan Avenue west of Harrison, I emailed the SkyVue development today to suggest THEY ask the city / MiDOT for some more crosswalks. Received the following reply: "Thank you for …

I should mention too that, even on Christmas Eve, there was a decent amount of pedestrian traffic - and I don't mean people walking from their car to a shop, but wandering around, enjoy the parks which were all decorated. It was nice.

Wanted to mention, I was recently in Cincinnati, OH, and was quite impressed by this development: http://www.liberty-center.com/directorymap . Think Eastwood in the sense that it was all designed by a single developer, but they did a stupendous job…

Incidentally, we got a letter from LEAP about the Under-the-Bridge project, which is now moving forward. Struck me, though, that apparently part of the issue was that it will be in Lansing Township, and apparently the Township was unwilling to main…

In East Lansing, not Lansing, but I have emailed or tweeted several times now trying to tell the city and state DOT (which actually owns the road) how badly a crosswalk is needed near Kensington on Michigan Ave especially, and in spots between Harri…

Here here on slowing the roads, friend.

Wouldn't surprise me, but Aramark is all over the place, it is by no means just a prison food company, it is huge. 270,000 employees per Wikipedia.

Workforce housing is housing aimed at people making 60-120% of median income.

Rendering of the SkyVue courtyard on their FB page. And 47 likes! Future tenants, I wonder?

Are we talking about the old water tower (I think) that is part of the Gannon Building? Yes, I have no idea why that was ever part of the building either... not sure how old that building is, but I didn't think it was that old.

East Lansing Info's reporting is a little more optimistic.

PS - why not build up to the corner? I'm not sure they can mind you, because I think that land was reserved by the city to (possibly some day) add wide yield lanes between Saginaw and Abbot. But it seems increasingly unlikely that will ever happen…

Can't tell if this would happen, but as someone who used to live up that way I would 100% approve of removing the high rock fence toward the NE corner of the property. Made it so there was zero visibility between cars leaving the station and anyone…

Nice but, how do you publish an article in August 2016, which says construction (on the Red Cedar Renaissance) is expected to begin in June 2016, and it hasn't?

Say... what happened with the Howard Johnson on Trowbridge? Noticed passing by today that it looked closed. Found a review online from someone who stayed there on January 31 of this year who was told that was the last day the hotel would be open, …

Nice. I did not know about the retail either. Surely makes sense to put as much retail as possible around MSU.
