It was briefly discussed above by me and @MichMatters on June 6th. Gillespie Group is redeveloping the buildings, along with the two storefronts to the west, into retail and 15 apartments.
I had to look up what this was, but in the last month or so, a construction company on E Cesar Chavez just west of Larch improved an old dirt driveway onto Larch from their property. I grew up in this area, and up until very recently, it was an old chain-linked fence entrance that was rarely used. Anyway, they came in an excavated it and graveled it (such a weird thing to see in an urban neighborhood)...but the problem is that now between the driveway and Cesar Chavez is nothing but a trail of dust that gets kicked up since much of the construction company property is dirt. You've got to roll up your windows every time you go through. I know the neighbors can't like this.
I love seeing a local business apparently doing well, but this is precisely the kind of stuff that nuisance abatement is for. I still can't quite believe they haven't made them clean up this operation on a fast, urban street like Larch. /rant
I've been wondering if all of the new traffic from this site is the result of BWL building its solar field up on Lake Lansing Road? I've seen a lot of the solar company contractors trucks around, lately.
