I saw Air Force One and the other aircraft that traveled with President Biden to Capital Region Airport fly right over my building in East Lansing. I could see that it was Air Force One by the colors [and it is a 747!] from my patio! The giant cargo…

Thanks I will be getting out there soon sounds nice!

It is interesting to see the drain project progressing along Michigan Avenue. The rain garden pools are extending into East Lansing. It would be nice if there were a path down the median from Harrison to 127 it is very wide there. You could bike or…

Has anyone been on the new "Bear Lake" trail? I think it will be a beautiful forest to ride through.

It seems like traffic on Saginaw and Oakland, Cedar and Larch travels mainly in packs that fill all the lanes side to side due to the traffic signals. The packs fill the lanes because the can but are not many cars deep. With single lanes like on S. …

This a quite a study. It is very interesting to see the two way depictions. It shows it could be done. I am hoping this becomes a real project soon.

I guess it is the large amount of land we have to build on that is the reason most building don't make it beyond five or six stories in Lansing, it may be cheaper to build horizontally! Some bolder design should be considered, and buildings fronting…

A new monument has been placed on Capitol Ave in front of the Capitol Building. It is a war memorial made of grey stone, it look nice in it's protonate spot. The grounds in front are looking very pretty this year as I appreciated the peaceful scene.

The site preparation for the credit union building began today with crews pulling up the pavement. I am happy that we don't get much noise from the work going on. Behind there the building site on Evergreen has been cleared and filled in with top so…

There an article about the Lake Trust development in the LSJ.com [free] and I also saw a report on YouTube fox47 where they talk to the developer. He said the building's '60s Brutalist cement façade is a historic representation of this type of archi…

I took a drive through the University Edge side of the development, and found that the building's apartments seem to be fully leased. At least that would seem to be the reason there were so many cars parked there. It could be that these are "free" s…

Thank you, this looks pretty good. Seems to fit in with the other new buildings and has some nice green space, looks like the same windows as the Newman, but no patios or balconies.

The Evergreen site has been cleared except for some foundation walls on the east side are still being worked on. They have set up a construction crew trailer on the site as well. This project seems starting up, as opposed the the credit union site w…

Great to see this is happening! If they could tame the traffic on S Cedar this area could become another "urban village/town" center like Old Town. How about "Frenchtown" [I know there is nothing very French there but the name is Old Lansing] or "S…

I believe that the city has a right of way on the strips of land between the sidewalk and street, so it could be possible to expand the width of the sidewalks a few inches for the trail. If they were to do that I think the south side of the street w…

I could see the trail continuing on the south bank from Moorse Park dam and under MLK on to Riverside Park then perhaps pedestrian/bike trail sharing newly paved public sidewalks past the private property on Moorse River Drive connecting with the t…

I have noticed the city had already removed maybe a dozen trees right next to the curb on the river side. This was done a few months ago, it is good to hear that it has something to do with the river trail and not traffic or utility related. The tre…

I meant to say the new buildings lining the street to the south, Frandor is confusing!

I was surprised to see renovation work beginning on the old and worn Seven-11 on Grove Street today! I wonder if it was the last one that looked like it did when I went to school in the '70's. Maybe I will go in there when it is cleaned up. They are…

CATA has started their on campus service and East Lansing connecting routes again, and already have many more riders then I have seen since I moved here in May. With the students and employees of MSU back in town I'm sure the ridership numbers will …
