Possible Lansing & East Lansing merger?

Interesting, I remember discussions about this topic. Always came to thought why the two cities didn't merge, I don't see how it could be a bad ideal.

I know this is an old thread, but I think a merger between the two cities would save money with less overhead (one pd and f.d.). I do not think the schools should be merged. I think a lot of these townships that border the cities should be annexed as well.
