The rezoning for the old Genesee Street School (and I assume the special land use permit to reuse the gym for the community) was approved last week according to the public notices in the City Pulse, this week. I've always been excited about this on…

I don't think that was a new story; I think they simply posted the August story in the actual paper version. Anyway, next week's council agenda was just posted, and one of the things forwarded to council was a "noise special ordinance" req…

Some of it is musical chairs, but some of it is actual growth seeing as how the Northern Tier apartments haven't been completely abandoned. MSU's enrollment has grown since those properties were built, anyway, so some of it is definitely growth. I …

Well, well, well. Right you are. The name for the company attached to it through me off (a shell LLC). And then Gillespie Group does have it on their website, too. City records show it as an 8,000-sq-ft warehouse building (built in 1900) on a bi…

Jared, The parking lot behind Clare's back parking lot is owned by the office building across the street at 119 Pere Marquette, which they use for the tenants: https://x.lnimg.com/photo/poster_1920/2c1b1ad378e84abe911e506554bb48b7.jpg The vacant la…

No news on the old train station. First steel is being put up today on Block600. They did say that once they started construction that it would go really fast because Meijer wants to get in as soon as possible.

Well, that would certainly make it better than Max & Erma's, which I only went to once since it was completely forgettable.

This is going quickly. All the stairway/elevator towers look topped out, and walls are already going up. The first floor is quite tall, which I knew it would be for the Meijer, but it's still something to see it.

Looks like the planning staff recommend against the height increase for East Village (from 140 feet to 165 feet), and the article says the planning commission only recommended the changes the planning department staff did. So, I guess it'll come do…

Oh my goodness; it was a stupid scooter rental shop. lol https://twitter.com/GillespieGrp/status/1167431738823458817

Excellent quality, but - I can't believe I'm about to say this - could this be the start of too much? The increase in scale is really getting up there. If constructed as proposed, these two new buildings would add another 720 student apartment unit…

Another shot from the Wieland twitter account: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EDLDpuBXUAAsOwG.jpg Really beautiful.

The first capitol building in Lansing was at the southwest corner of Washington and Allegan: https://twitter.com/lansingmichigan/status/1167066889312505857 Early in 1847, three commissioners were appointed to select an appropriate site for the cap…

gb, The City Pulse did a story on the redevelopment of the old EDS center this week, and specifically the ripping up of the excessive parking lot: https://cdn1.creativecirclemedia.com/citypulse/original/20190829-113654-Holmes1.JPG Like the Talking…

Looking at the township's most recent planning commission agenda, last week, it appears a BJ’s Restaurant is moving into the long-vacant Max and Erma's building on Lake Lansing in Eastwood. Never heard of the chain, but apparently, they are out of …

The Planning Commission recommended approval for The Cottages at Gaslight Village, last night. The vote was 7-1, so it looks like this may finally get past council. The developer seems to addressed all of the major concerns with this one - widened…

Well, half the rumor I heard was true. One of the hotels will, in fact, be a Hyatt House, but the other (the full-service one) will be an AC Hotel by Marriott instead of a Hyatt Centric. Developers announce two hotel brands for Red Cedar project, p…
