gbinlansing I've had exactly that thought - they have these booths in the street, and I've seen people stumble and fall because of uneven pavement and mini-potholes. It's embarrassing. And unkind.

And then today, from a different spot.

I found it somewhat odd that part of the complaint was that a Lansing jail would be a hardship on police officers bringing people in from the SE side of the county - that's probably true, but I'm guessing a very large percentage of the people arrest…

OK there is already a second floor cafetaria: https://www.glassdoor.com/Photos/First-National-Bank-of-America-Office-Photos-IMG642767.htm . Place looks pretty cool inside actually, have never been but on the first floor.

On second thought that apartment company already exists, I think their offices are just in that building: https://www.aihitdata.com/company/017E3C1E/RED-DOOR-APARTMENTS/overview . Ah, that makes more sense.

Got a couple things for ya: 1. The Pancheros in downtown EL has closed?! My life is over. 2. It looks like the renovations at First National Bank of America on Saginaw might be more extensive that I thought. Took the below picture inside the…

They had the parking garage and sidewalk back toward the MSU Student Family Housing construction open today, I noticed.

LPD "functionally obsolete". Reminds me I was walking to catch a bus downtown a few months ago and came across someone laying on the sidewalk... just homeless I think, but after walking another couple of blocks I figured perhaps I should do somethi…

You know when our own church (which is on the outskirts of East Lansing in a neighborhood area) was considering erecting a playground (because we have a billion kids there), I remember someone saying "and we could put a fence around it so the neighb…

Have no idea what the name of this development is, but the construction by the original Biggby in EL looks almost done.

(Unless the guy made all this up, of course. But I don't know why he would. He showed another passenger a business card supposedly with who to contact to get in on that sweet $11/hr.)

Sure, but what surprised me - maybe I wasn't clear - is that the union is apparently paying random people to stand on the line with them to make the protest look bigger.

Was waiting at the Frandor bus stop this morning and somebody biked up who had apparently come from the SkyVue protest line and shared that they were paying takers $11/hr to stand on the line with them! He had decided he wasn't dressed for it today …

PS gb - one thing I've read time and again is that America is suffering from a pilot's shortage, and that's one of the reasons these smaller flights are getting cut. People retiring and it takes a lot more flight time to get certified to be a pilot…

I've been on-the-watch for cheap weekend flights to Cincy lately and have been finding LAN<->DTW<->CVG cheaper than DTW<->CVG. Don't ask me why. But my wife, who flies more often, said "yeah, flights out of Lansing are cheaper ag…

Yeah, I actually think I'd rather the city put a sidewalk there - and actually if there was I would probably bike on the sidewalk rather than in the road (which, last I used it anyway, is also all chewed up near the shoulder). But certainly an impr…

I believe the little guy you see on the right is on the 8th floor, by the way.

Up up up. Maybe strange, but I've been all focused on how tall the thing will be, was really struck today by how big it will be in the horizontal dimensions as well.

Up up up.
