I noticed those houses boarded up too, they were in pretty sad shape, it would be noisy corner for a single-family home rehab. Too bad they did not buy the "apartment house" at 909. It looks beyond rehabilitation as well. On the south side of Cedar,…

Today's LSJ.com has an artical about the new improvements being made to the "City Market" building, now called 'Lansing Shuffle" I believe. It sounds better than I was expecting. It also sounds like a real business plan with several restaurants each…

There is one those 'developments to watch" articles about East Lansing in the LSJ today.
-
Yes, you are right I did miss that one but perhaps with the new entertainment center opening next door it will have a tenant soon.
-
While shopping downtown yesterday I noticed the entertainment venue on S. Washington has its front facade enclosed with nice-looking walls of glass windows and doors. They have also renovated the part of the exterior facade on the second floor. Now…

There is an artical in LSJ.com [pay] about redeveloping S. Martin Luther King Blvd., a long-range plan to make the area more attractive, and safer.

I agree that I really don't like the idea of seeing yellow block "m's" all over Lansing, and that MSU really should be looking to its second host city for expansion. I think MSU could take over Cooley Law School and bring Sparty's law students right…

That is kind of what I was trying to convey, a separate lane for local traffic on the right, and two north bound lanes for thru-traffic which could have a stop sign for off ramp traffic. That traffic would not cross into the local lane but turn righ…

The street and bridge up there have been repaved after years of huge potholes and looks much better than this photo! I think taking over a vacant industrial site along the river and building housing is just what the city needs. There are many vacant…

I thought the drawings for the building were quite nice, and perhaps it will lead to some more riverside development on the north side.

I just had an idea there could be a local traffic lane which one could enter at Michigan and the other intersections on the right, this lane would be separated from the thru lanes on the left. This could keep slower local traffic separated from the …

There is list a by LSJ [pay] of the worse intersections in Greater Lansing, N. Homer and E. Saginaw being number one with 85 crashes last year! It is crazy around there; I often avoid driving that way. A fellow from the township just kind of threw …

It is good to see the space filled in, the building is looking OK too. I am not sure I would want to have my apt. right next to the intersection there. I noticed wood framing stacked up on the river side of the development, which would be a much bet…

I am not sure who is mad about what but there seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding the Holiday Market in Reutter Park. The folks who gather in the park are wanting to use the warming sheds and have been kept away by security. I can think of …

It will be nice to have a lot of the highway traffic off the surface streets even though the project has yet to be totally finished. When I lived in REO-town detours of 496 would raise the noise and pollution levels very noticeably.
-
The I-496 project has finished and although I have not been down that way myself the LSJ says the highway has reponed. I will have to check it out form my trip to Horrocks.

The view from these new apartments is really great, with the huge windows. I hope they clean the cement exterior walls; I am not crazy about the ceilings they look like they are not finished. However, that is just my opinion, it is really great to s…

Sorry! I was mistaking Rutter Park for Ranny Park! I would not mind seeing an ice rink there, but if it is going to be a tiny square of ice like at City Hall, it will not attract many people. It might be nice to have an iced path going around the fo…

I guess they could put it in the parking lot behind the ball field, skating on on of the frozen ponds would be nice, but the weather these days it may not get cold enough for thick ice on the pond. I did see folks skating on the large pound behind t…

Crews have been installing the window walls on the credit union building, they look really nice, and the building is looking like a proper downtown office building.
