  • I am not sure who is mad about what but there seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding the Holiday Market in Reutter Park. The folks who gather in the park are wanting to use the warming sheds and have been kept away by security. I can think of …
  • It will be nice to have a lot of the highway traffic off the surface streets even though the project has yet to be totally finished. When I lived in REO-town detours of 496 would raise the noise and pollution levels very noticeably.
  • The I-496 project has finished and although I have not been down that way myself the LSJ says the highway has reponed. I will have to check it out form my trip to Horrocks.
  • The view from these new apartments is really great, with the huge windows. I hope they clean the cement exterior walls; I am not crazy about the ceilings they look like they are not finished. However, that is just my opinion, it is really great to s…
  • Sorry! I was mistaking Rutter Park for Ranny Park! I would not mind seeing an ice rink there, but if it is going to be a tiny square of ice like at City Hall, it will not attract many people. It might be nice to have an iced path going around the fo…
  • I guess they could put it in the parking lot behind the ball field, skating on on of the frozen ponds would be nice, but the weather these days it may not get cold enough for thick ice on the pond. I did see folks skating on the large pound behind t…
  • Crews have been installing the window walls on the credit union building, they look really nice, and the building is looking like a proper downtown office building.
  • I like the look of this building, seems a bit pricey but with all that is included it could work for a lot of people. Over on the hotel side they are installing some nice large windows, and on the western hotel building they are putting up some dark…
  • There is an artical in the LSJ.com [pay] about some MSU owned land in Clinton County that is being marketed for development of a simi-conductor chip manufacturing plant. The land is in Eagle Township, and in the envisioned concept they talk of the d…
  • There is an artical in the LSJ.com about the redevelopment of Valley Court Park. I like the plan and I would enjoy having a pavilion for the farmers market, it can get really hot out there.
  • In today's LSJ.com [pay] there is an artical about the Okemos downtown development, including several depictions of the project and the changes that the developers want to make. An above ground parking ramp is one of the big changes. The drawings ar…
  • There needs to be a pedestrian activated crossing light there, that really does change the signals. There is one that really functions on Grand River near Bell's Pizza, the signal changes as soon as you press the button.
  • I agree that I would have keep more of the buildings original features, but like you say, it not that bad looking and soon will be animated with people living there and the retail spaces could be popular, I hope that area of the building will not si…
  • While restocking my aquarium at Preuss Pet I noticed that landscaping crews were planting grass shrubs and other plants around the Temple Building which may be that the project is nearing completion.[ i.m.o.] it looks pretty good they kept some of …
  • Crews where installing the windows on the eastern hotel building when I passed by yesterday, it will be nice to see this project all finished.
  • The red brick façade on the credit union building is going up quickly, and it looks good and a nice contrast to the dark charcoal bricks of the northside "monolith" wall. I also like the curve that bends down the west side, there could have been jus…
  • Maybe they could install doors on the shelters that could only open with a bus fare card, which could also be closed after hours. Like others have pointed out I have never seen anyone sleeping or using the shelter for a toilet. I do ride downtown ju…
  • I saw the story in the City Pulse, my thought about Lansing is that we do a lot for the homeless, but there are still some folks out there. the numbers don't seem to be overwhelming, that is why I don't think anyone in Greater Lansing should be "hom…
  • I have heard the the owners of Frandor are removing the CATA bus stops on their property. The problems they sight are loitering, homeless folks using them for shelter, and aggressive pan-handlers. They note the the LPD does not remove these folks du…
  • Not big news, however the have installed the new fence along the Red Cedar and it looks very nice. They did not need to remove many trees so it looks like it may have always been there.
