I think that ELPD needs to have a large but not aggressive presence on weekends and game days. If people, see and know there are a lot of police on the streets maybe they would keep their guns out of their drunken fights after the bars close. More p…

The renovation of the storefront on Grand River next to the Jackson [Jacobson's} building has started, I remember the plan was for a two-story building with a bar-restaurant and a games room? upstairs. It is good to see this vacant property being de…

I could see a recreation facility, how about a glass elevator to the top of the stacks, maybe some sort of restaurant and observation deck in the sky up there! The site is not that isolated, there is a two-lane bridge, and I could see GM perhaps all…

I watched an interesting report on the YouTube channel "The B1-M" about the renovation of the Battersea Power Station in London. [The one on the cover of the Pink Floyd Album]. It made think of our Ekert Station and the possibilities for a smaller s…

I took a look at two projects the other day, the new apartment building on the REOTOWN sign site has some wooden framing starting, it looks like there will be no basement level. Over on Holmes Street the school renovation is progressing, it may have…

It is great that we need more hotel rooms in Greater Lansing, I guess I just think what those views must be like for new visitors, I might think "what kind of a place it this?". I do understand the economics of the site, the growing market for exte…

Looks like a very nice building and a step above the most recent apartments being built around town. Being located on the high north bank of the river this building will stand out in the skyline and will have great views in every direction.

Crews are taking down the building.

Crews were putting up fencing around the Sparrow building on the west side of Penn and Michigan, perhaps construction is beginning soon at that site.

I had noticed the hillside chopped off a couple weeks back, the northside hotel- cement factory district is a mystery to me.

Looks pretty good. I have not been by this area in a while, I believe the bridge renovation is, or near complete, just that alone improves the neighborhood. Now it looks like a great location for a high rise.

There are several photos of the two-way street conversions downtown in today's LSJ.com.

I agree that approving such a business there would be wrong, especially since there is so many empty lots, already industrial just a block west that are not on Michigan Ave... I wonder why these plans even come up from time to time, it seems like it…

Yes, I have a lot of family living in FLA:{ so I know that Stanford is at least is a good distance northeast of the major attractions. The highways are always packed, and they are scary [to me] and huge, so the drive could make a long and unpleasant…

I was thinking that they owned the land down to that club. It is kind of funny that I actually stayed in the little house next to the Alano Club way back in the early '80s. My friends from MSU and Kellogg Center rented the house for their last year.…

I read in the LSJ.com that Lansing will getting a new airline with low fares to Orlando, and with more flights possible in the future. It is a new airline called Avelo Airlines. It was noted that hundreds of passengers from Lansing have Orlando as t…

Where is the Stadium North Project being built? Is it north of the old Roma Bakery? I have seen a lot of new signage for the big two change downtown, I wonder when they are planning to do it?

What's with the self-storage places? I wonder why it is so profitable to go into a business where there are already hundreds, if not more, storage units available for rent in the Greater Lansing area. We even have a nine-story tall storage unit buil…

The blue paint matches the blue in the stairway mural on the N. Grand parking ramp, so perhaps they will do some sort of art or murals. The mayor and who ever plans these things does not seem to have much imagination, I read where the mayor said the…

I saw downtown today and noticed that they seem to be painting the corigated metal siding on the ped. bridge blue instead of replacing it with new siding. I was thinking they would do a half assed rehab I hope the rest is better.
