What? Is there a new building going up or something?
-
I sure hope not, but I never remember there being a working Odeena site.
-
Yeah, the Lansing area will have two vibrant downtowns, I just hope EL can get some height.
-
I can't wait to see baseball season, when all the new businesses are open, and all the people are around. It's going to be a good year for downtown.

I heard it's on hold, possibly dead, which sorta sucks. But more than likely Old Town will still end up with some nice new construction within a few years. Also, A large "Project Funded by Bank of America" sign is in front of the old YMCA buildin…

I think City Center II will end up going forward without the residents support. The residents voiced legitimate concerns about the project at first, but now that they are still complaing they may get ignored altogether.

I wasn't too suprised Cornerstone closed, the guy who started them up live accross the street from me. It's really to bad though, they made their places so nice inside, someone else already has an opening soon sign at their downtown location. Als…

As of yesterday they had resumed work on this project.

Just FYI things are coming along nicely at the Stadium District, the cornices are nearing completion and they have begun putting up signage.

Check out this Capitol Gains story on Harem, including a few interior shots: Urban Lounge Ready to Electrify Lansing There are a number of other interesting articles in this most recent Capitol Gains.

I'm assuming there's more to it, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Here are some SketchUp images of Lansing. I added in all the proposed projects, ones in Blue are proposed, ones in green are under construction.

Just fyi, the same guy that owns Omar's and The Exchange is opening a new nigthclub named Harem next to the Nuthouse. It's slated to be a 3 night a week club with a middle-eastern motif. They have signs up in the windows, but I have yet to look clos…

Point taken, but certain students need to stop trying to stonewall every good development project that gets proposed for EL.
-
I'm so sick of students complaining. Maybe if they stayed in the area after graduation they would have a right to complain. But students are not permanent residents and they don't deserve any voice on issues like this. I understand resident's concer…

Could this be part of what MSU will do with that $1.5 billion in contributions or whatever it was?
-
I found a flythrough of this project on its architect's website. Hope it's not really dead. Flythrough

I agree with you on the windows. As for the retail, there will be a bank, cofee shop and a bar/resturaunt. Supposedly the other 2-4 spaces are also leased, but I don't know for what.
