Details of Eastwood plan Lansing Township board tables Eastwood decision Not sure why they would postpone a decision when it seems to be pretty strait forward to me. The LSJ article went further in detail about the plans. NCG will be adding…

A story on the two Ann St developments: Developments set for downtown East Lansing I'm glad to hear that these projects are moving along quickly, hopefully they stay on track.

I gotta get by there to see that. Looks good. Does anyone know when the new Rivertrail along the west bank is going to open?

I went and found the story on their site: Expansion Planned For Eastwood Towne Center The project is more extensive than what I had thought; 125 apartments, 15 restaurants, 75k sq ft of retail and a 716 space parking structure. I'm wondering what…

This is the building that is proposed to go next door:

I don't really like the design either, it looks a lot like the newer Stonehouse condos in EL, with half-exposed parking on the first floor. I wish people wouldn't always go with such bland architecture around here.

I'm hoping that this is going to be targeted more towards Cooley students, which it may very well be. If that's the case then I would agree with you that it wouldn't effect the overall downtown housing market much. I'm wondering about the number …

I like the rendering of the building that it shows in the banner ( posted the image below.) It's sounding to me like this project is essentially a sure thing. I hope this, along with the project next door and City Center II get built and soon.

...And here's the article: Lansing YMCA site could get new life in $22 million deal I'm a bit unsure about this project. I'm almost always for new construction downtown, especially residential construction, but I don't like the idea of building…

They have put in the foundation for the new sculpture near City Market. I think it's supposed to be unveiled in a week or two.

I'd hope that raising the bridge up a little would be something they'd do without having to be lobbied to do so, but who knows. The old dollar store in Old Town at Washington & Grand River is slated to undergo what looks to be a pretty good r…

I agree that we need to address the issue of sprawl, I doubt anyone on this forum would disagree with your stance on it. I just don't think that laws dictating too much to people are the answer. Besides, with the recent rush of interest in urban are…

I don't think the kind of regulations you talk about are very good ideas. They're too Orwellian. I think that the best way to encourage smart development and growth is through things like improving mass transit systems, improving urban school distri…

A new bar called The Boardroom is opening at the former location of Skyline Chile/Famous Taco/Downtown Doghouse. Maybe a bar will finally be the business to succeed at that location: New bar to bring 20 jobs to 3,600 square foot Downtown Lansing loc…

A new program is beginning in Lansing that will include free bus rides along with discounts and promotions at area businesses, the program is called First Fridays: First Fridays

No it has not been built yet, construction hasn't started yet either. From what I understand the smaller version of the project including about 150,000 sq ft of retail and a parking ramp is basically a sure thing and is supposed to start constructio…

Not that I know of. The library and museum are still open, unchanged from before.

They are saving the old depot. I've seen some new windows installed on the front of it, they look to be testing the materials or how they fit/look or something. Anyone heard when construction is supposed to start?

I have no doubt that something will be done with this site eventually, it's just a matter of time. A park wouldn't be a bad use either, but I'd rather see some development in the area. I don't see houses being directly across the street from large s…

That house was hard to justify saving. it had been so heavily altered that, from what I understand, virtually nothing was left of the original house on the inside, it had also been modified on the outside quite heavily. That, coupled with it's locat…
