They could probably convert both Oakland and Saginaw to 3/4/5 lane 2-way roads. Maybe make Saginaw a 5 lane 2-way, since it's closer to both downtown and Frandor business districts, and convert Oakland into a 3/4 lane 2-way road to serve the surrou…

They got a mixed review from the LSJ's entertainment section. They said the food was good, at reasonable cost, but I guess the interior of the place left a lot to be desired. Apparently they left all the old Taco Bell furniture in place, and tosse…

I'm glad they've come to a compromise, but seriously, two level parking garages are almost a waste of space. They're better than surface lots, but still. At least go three.

Dude, seriously, calm down. You're new here, most of us have been on here for a while. If you stick around and participate in the discussion you'll see we all care about Lansing area development, and have varying opinions of what is happening, and…

I went to the "tag sale" today at the Grand building. I realize that building has been modified over and over again, but wow it was a maze in there. I mean, I went up one set of stairs, down a hallway, through an office, and around corner to get t…

The comments section on both the State News, and the LSJ aren't really good for anything other than a laugh, or if you feel like getting pissed off. Otherwise they don't really serve any constructive purpose what-so-ever.

Man that's going to look weird when it's done. In a good way.

Ugh.... from the LSJ: TechSmith drops Lansing HQ Project

Indeed. And I for one don't want to be around for the public outcry if a developer either 1) wants to tear down the building, or 2) wants to remove the facade. ESPECIALLY if the redevelopment receives public tax breaks or other incentives. Good g…

Pardon my disagreeing with you, but the Knapp's building IS the facade. It's one of the few iconic buildings left in Lansing, and I'm fairly certain that any redevelopment will see the majority of the facade retained/rehabbed. The only major chang…

I tried digging through the meeting minutes from last week's council meeting, but I couldn't really see anything relating to the K-Zoo Gateway project (I read something somewhere that said it had been renamed Lansing Gateway). And since tonight was…

The problem with watching them, is you have to wade through all the other crap (ie. Pollard and his crew) to get to the parts you're really interested in. If I happen to catch it, I'll let you all know.

It just provides more fodder for all the students who think East Lansing is trying to push them away from the central business district.

For reference, in the first two pictures, Carls = Clems.

I wonder how Spartan Gyro feels about that? Considering they just moved in, and opened almost a year late.

Blech.

Even though they cut through that with a few roads, I thought that stretch was also a protected woodlot (it had a name, though I don't remember what it is). That's why I was thinking it would be past the railroad tracks. Don't know though.

I saw that too. I wonder if it's the land across the street from the commuter lot. There wasn't any additional info about the location in the article I read.

Silly people. Don't they know how old these buildings are? Can the township go ahead and approve the demolition anyway? Surely the people in charge have more common sense than the people complaining.
