  • I'm actually pretty happy they are planning to do a rebuild of 496 west of the Grand River. The current configuration is very dangerous, I am hoping that they will take this opportunity to make it safer for those merging in and out of the freeway.
  • I was at Liskey's the other day and noticed how this really does seem to be coming along quickly. Looking forward to this being fully built out and the grocery is up and running. I hope they don't hit any delays causing this to get bumped out of 202…
  • Cool stuff, thanks for sharing the history on that place. I agree that it is a waste of space for that area of Saginaw, I highly doubt an old school building from the 60's is using that lot optimally. Somewhat related, but I wonder if the old thr…
  • Yeah. When I read the article on this last night I noticed that they were specifically looking for those with a high school diploma, or those working towards an associates. To me that read as low pay and high turnover. I'm thinking a call center typ…
  • Sears in Frandor looks to be closing finally. I was actually quite surprised on how long it took for this one to close. I really hope that this gets redeveloped into something nice, as Frandor is hugely popular, and I could see mixed use development…
  • I noticed some metal fences going up at 2105 E Grand River Ave this morning on my way to work, looks like they are adding a 9000 sq ft expansion to the current building at 920 N Fairview Ave. Looks like a current tenant, Neopollard, which makes lott…
  • I'm not sure the payoff is there right now to compel the township to give up any of its current holdings. Personally I don't have any issues with the charter townships act and actually agree there should be protections against aggressive expansion o…
  • GBD, they are actually discussing converting it all one way or the other. I saw something on Nextdoor about how they were going to have a discussion session later this month about a three lane or four lane configuration on Mt. Hope. The decision wil…

  • Speaking of another building I drive by every day, it looks like 415 E Saginaw St, the location where Bonnie's Place used to be, is having some work done on it. At first I thought maybe someone was opening something there too, but I pulled it up on …
  • Looks like a BBQ new restaurant is going in at 427 E Oakland Ave, right at the Cedar/Oakland intersection. There was a "you buy we fry" place there for a couple years that closed last winter, and it had been sitting vacant save for a BBQ food truck …
  • LSJ is reporting a 40m reconstruction project for 496 starting in 2020. They are going to close and reconstruct one side at a time. Apparently this is why MLK is getting redone so quickly since it's a huge trunkline that is likely going to be a big …
  • Three things: 1. Daycare sounds interesting given the state workers nearby. 2. I hope they get retail tenants in the building as it would be great have another option besides Washington Square area 3. Not sure if income based apartments are righ…
  • "State of Michigan: Meeting to discuss 2020 Homer Street lane reduction project in Lansing on June 27" "MDOT will invest approximately $200,000 in 2020 to remove the far right lane on Homer Street between Vine Street and the northbound US-127 exi…
  • https://eastlansinginfo.org/content/el-food-co-op-open-storefront-farm-market-near-127 Looks like the old food co-op in EL is reopening in the small slice of Lansing Township just east of the 127 overpass. I never set foot in the old location and…
  • https://eastlansinginfo.org/content/builders-hardware-heading-new-home-reo-town Builder's Hardware of East Lansing is moving to REO Town looks like, 1009 S Washington where Hack's Key shop was (is?). Never been in the building but it's cool to se…
  • Since I work right down there I'm interested to see what will go into that retail space. Having somewhere else besides Washington Square to walk to would be great. If they can find a niche for the state workers a business in that building will be ve…
  • I was driving through Frandor towards East Lansing today and noticed they are putting up new signals. When I came back it didn't look like any have gone up westward towards Lansing. I assume these are the arrow signals as outlined in the LSJ article…
  • Take note the next time one drives through Frandor and see just how much of that area has wasted green space as a result of it being paved over. That island in between the Saginaw and Grand River one-ways comes to mind. The area between the parking …
  • That looks really great. I would have loved to have this next door when I was living off of Glenmoor Rd. It seems like East Lansing is really going to be the ones that benefit from this reconfig, unless it becomes a lot easier to get to Ranney from …
