Yeah I agree. It would be nice if they were able to rebuild the facades of the buildings, and then make the new building have a 5 or 10-foot setback from the facades. Alternatively, the current facades could be stretched vertically to the height of …

I don't know, I hope not. I also hope that the changes don't remove the possibility of sledding at the hill, depending on what barriers are placed around the wetlands.

Thanks hood! Wow, so it looks like there is no walkway/observation path coming from the northeast corner of the park. That's a shame, because all of the landscaping and design will be walked over when people recreate the shortcut. It should really b…

If the north Ranney park changes are done in a way that includes a diagonal path from the northeast corner to towards the midwest side of the park then I don't expect any complaints. It's a natural "cow path" and shouldn't get in the way of the rede…

The crane working at the site of 300 Grand tipped over today. No major injuries to workers, but minor damage to the crane. I'm not sure what delays this may cause, as I'm sure OSHA will want to take some extra precautions at the site. Thankfully nob…

The houses on Allegan being boarded up may be a tactic lower the property value and get the people to move out of 923 West Allegan.

That's good to hear. I just had to remind myself that the road that the building is spanning over is not Delta St, it's in fact the drive-thru for the bank that was mentioned in the article. The city shouldn't have let a drive-thru get constructed h…

DTN broke ground on the development today and hopes to have it complete by Fall 2016. It will have 39 residential units and cost $9.5 million to build. The article mentions "6,500 feet of pedestrian-oriented retail and new housing options". This sta…

I don't see where in the article that it says can charge in 5 minutes. They did mention an airport-style shuttle that could charge in 10 minutes to drive 30 miles, but the full-size bus pictured was mentioned as charging overnight. Still cool techno…

This building? Google is showing it was clad in siding since at least 2007. I never went by there enough to know what it looked like before.

I think a more realistic approach for the Eckert and GM site are new neighborhoods. There aren't many large open areas of land within the center of the city that could still be developed and provide new construction homes. The flood zone shouldn't p…

Update on the Oliver Towers project. The Eydes are planning on doing a redevelopment of the building with commercial and office on the first floor and 100 apartments on the upper 7 floors. http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2015/…

Haha no worries, thanks for the tip I'm excited and can't wait for construction to start, is there anywhere that construction timelines are posted? Maybe with a buildings department?

I think those signs are being stored there in anticipation of the 127 underpass work, although they would have needed permission from the SkyVue owners to place it there for that purpose.

The Eyde Family is planning to redevelop the Oliver Towers building. More details will be unveiled at a press conference at 11am on Thursday morning. Source, http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/2015/09/23/eyde-family-redevelop-oliver…

At the same council session, Stonehouse Village IV was approved as well as the brownfield plan for the project. I'm not sure when construction will start.

Wow that's quite the story. From looking at the pictures alone I would have thought that Trammpp's was out of business when they took those pictures, but I guess it was just trying to not draw any unwanted attention.

Hmm... yeah I don't see a way to do it. Which threads seem awkward? You could probably add a section at the bottom of the first post with a: Current project status (as of 9/2/2015): ... ... etc.

Sticky means that the thread will stay at the "top" of the forum even when new posts are made to other threads.

Thanks, The Outfield page looks good :) I've made hood and MichMatters moderators on the forum now, as they've been on for the forum since the beginning and have consistently made great contributions.
