That's too bad. I assume this to have a pretty large impact on the project. What do you think about the prospects of this project?

I'm not sure if this would be easy to wrap with retail because it may be located to close to a flood plain, but if it could be then it would make it look nicer and add more use to the ramp.

Actually, I think the nicest parking garage I've seen is the ramp built a few years ago on Michigan State's north campus. I agree with the ground floor retail. That would really help connect the LCC/Accident Fund side to the City Market side of the …

Nice aerial picture. The Google Maps and Bing Map searches are really making it easier for sites like this to explain locations. Building the parking garage and possible arts center would be a big help, and will really move this area forward and …

Oh ok. I see what you're talking about. Yeah, if I could fly from Lansing to my end destination, then I would choose Lansing over DTW because it's much easier for a number of reasons. It stinks because JetAmerica was going to make it easy for me to …

I don't really see the problem with it taking away service. There are some people who would rather stay on the ground if they have the opportunity. I think the commercial airport in Lansing is good and it has it's purpose. I don't know why a bus ser…

I really like the flyer and I don't have a problem with it siphoning off of our air traffic from Lansing to Detroit. I've done that flight before and it has been faster and more reliable to take the flyer.

I've added the thumbnails back in and also added some from SmugMug. The author of the video doesn't have any content being linked to right now anyways.

I've removed the recent pictures of Lansing from the homepage of the site, http://develop.metrolansing.com, because a complaint came in about a video that was being linked to. Apparently the video is copyrighted material and the author wanted me to …

I stopped in Troppo today after Silver Bells and saw a rendering of the new Troppo building made out of food. It looked like a giant gingerbread house.

Wow this will be a really nice look for the City Market. I expect that they will be located on the roof of the market. Is there any word on how much power is expected to be generated?
-
Ahhh, good thinking there. They've had giant ornaments at the intersection of Michigan and Washington now for at least a week.

Yeah I was just down there today as well, and was surprised to see bikers going through the construction area instead of around it. Most of the shrubs have already been plated on the west side of the river near the trail. I'm not expecting that side…

@MichMatters: I don't know how to embed youtube videos here. I'll see if I can add that ability. I like how the market will not be separated in to two parts with the new design. It will be nice when it is open to go and see for myself. Until then…

Thanks for the pics MichMatters. Looking at that first picture, I think it would have been cool if they had done the bricks on the annex in the same gradient as they are on the power plant. What do you think?
-
I can't picture LCC putting the grass back if they were to buy the ramp, especially with the economy the way it is. They would probably get a lot of flack for wasting money if they did that.
-
Does anybody else think that the City Market looks like some of the buildings in Detroit's Eastern Market?
-
Those are nice pictures. I really like the angle in the last picture.

Farm Lane is now reopened. I took a ride on it on my way back from class and it looks beautiful! The change in grades makes it a lot more interesting ride as well. The CATA is still on detour, and I'm not sure when they will start taking Farm Lane. …

The City of Lansing and the Ingham County Board of Commissioners are looking to establish a recovery zone so Christman can sell bonds to finance construction of the parking ramp. The federal 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act authorized t…
