  • Just as a followup, the gas station proposed by Meijer got denied again at today's city council meeting.
  • It looks like the numbered units will be the first phase:
  • There was an article with the owner of the Baskin Robbins across the street from the East Village. He was talking about how he thought the East Village was a pipe dream that would never happen. I believe right now they are still in the property ac…
  • Since we're on the topic of other developments around Michigan. Here is the proposal for the Secchia Center in Grand Rapids that MSU is building for its new west campus Medical School.
  • Does anybody know when the second phase (the rowhouses along Hillcrest) will be started? There is grass planted there too.
  • Here is a picture of the site to put it into perspective: I measured the width of the parking lot with Google Maps and the Kalamazoo lot is ~200 ft, while the Stadium District lot is ~400 ft.
  • I might try to go to the event since it's between my classes. If I go I will try and bring a camera. Anybody else planning on going, or might be able to get renderings?
  • So, a question for anybody that may have inside knowledge. Are any of these developments that have been announced the "association" building?
  • Here is a new article about the projects being developed along the riverfront. Nothing too new in the article though. Grand Plan: With $300M in projects on drawing board, the river is no longer a dumping ground
  • Here is a picture of the roundabout after completion. Now we only need to have the fountain installed. And a link to it's respective article: Michigan Ave Roundabout
  • The Ground Breaking Ceremony for Avondale Square will take place Thursday, November 1 at 1 p.m. It will be held on one of the home sites near the construction sign located closest to Burcham Drive and Virginia Avenue. Everyone is invited to attend. …
  • You know a really cool idea would be to have seperate models posted on each project page. I wouldn't mind hosting them. I can work out all the technical stuff, but that seems like it would be a REALLY cool thing to have along with the project page…
  • Here is a picture of the Wharton Center expansion: The expansion is the glass enclosure in the front of the building.
  • The cement for the parking structure is starting its second floor now on the southern portion of the building.
  • Yeah, I went by the site today on my way to work and saw the steel starting to come up. They had the back half of the first floor and a cross section on one or two of the beams (i'm not sure of the name, but it was from the front to the back of the…
  • Yeah, it is going to be weird. It would be nice if they left it and put lights on it or made it in to some type of decoration/landmark.
  • Thanks for the pictures jwswrites. I wonder how the ballpark north project will look with the dyslexic foundation's property and another one that Gillespie probably won't get a hold of.
  • This is really big news. I hope that the Lansing City Market will simply become either a tenant on one of the new buildings or move to a different location within downtown.
  • It's not the biggest development, but the significance is that this is probably the fifth time they have tried to get this passed and it will be interesting to see if the city gets what it wants this time around.
  • This is at a preexisting Meijer, the proposal is to build a gas station on part of the parking lot of the Meijer on Lake Lansing Rd.
