Has anyone seen anything about the University Corporate Research Park expanding? Driving down Collins Rd the other day I noticed that work had started in the big field south of the current buildings. Looks like drainage stuff right now. I didn't see…

As a computer person, if they are going to use the initials of the surrounding streets, I would have preferred BIOS. :-) Bois would also have worked (French for wood).

I was surprised at how tall the office expansion is at the Cyclotron.

Found this while wasting time on Flickr. Been a long time since I saw this sign. Schmidt's Grocery on Flickr

St Louis is a very good example of sprawl.

Especially in a GM town. If I'm remembering right, that means the only Ford Company in Lansing (the city) now is Central Ford Truck. Grand Ledge F-L-M and Courtesy Ford (Okemos) are on the outskirts.

Not really a new business, but a consolidation. Merrill Lincoln Mercury in south Lansing has been merged into Grand Ledge Ford to create Grand Ledge Ford Lincoln Mercury. I just noticed this tonight. Not too surprising since he hasn't owned it for t…

Grand Rapids is also moving southeast down the M-37 corridor. I can remember driving down it 20 years ago and seeing distinct towns. They now have built up along the road through to about Middleville.

Yeah. It already takes too long to get from Brody Complex to the east side of campus. No need to extend it further out.

Oh OK I can picture it now. Thanks. :-)

Isn't that The Dollar at the corner of Michigan and Louis?

Looks like they have started to clean out the rooms at the old Regent Inn.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but there's a sign up now for the proposed Annabelle's Pet Station at 600 S. Capitol. Didn't have my camera with me so I couldn't take a pic.

I forgot that a CADL member can request materials from both East Lansing and MSU libraries through the MeLCAt system, so I guess technically they are still connected in a way.

I really have to say that they have done a pretty good job of keeping the public informed of their goals. I personally think it's an important millage for the area. I really like how Impression 5 would be incorporated into this project. I agree thou…

I agree. I hate how they are everywhere. Seems to me that we'd have a LOT less problems during/after storms if they were buried. The weird thing is that some places they are. My neighborhood is about half and half. Luckily my area they are all under…

You're correct LMich. They have been wanting this office expansion for a couple years now. Too many people doubling up in ofices. I really hope they are able to get the RIA. Argonne Labs is a tough one to have to go up against though.

I'm not sure but it looks like they are adding some River Trail access off Aurelius Rd near Potter Park and the river. I'm not positive though.

I read about something that they were trying to make the area where MSUFCU is building into a kind of financial district. So far they have MSUFCU, Mercantile Bank, Financial Health Credit Union, and a couple other places I can't think of right now.

I think right now the city has had more to worry about than a tree blocking the trail. Down here by Aurelius/Mount Hope/Forest Rd area there are still many trees on people's houses, a couple with wires still down. Mount Hope Cemetery is still a mess…
