I highly recommend it. Very pretty. I've been running on it a few days a week and I love it. Still a few things to be finished up but it's ready to go. Barricades are gone, some signs are up, and some debris fences have been removed.

Woldumar would be my goal for a southwest extension. Maybe linking to Fine Park and Anderson Bike Park as well. I also agree that a northwest extension would be nice.

Unfortunately Eaton County and parks just don't go together. Too many NIMBYs and "why-should-I-pay-for-that"s there. It's sad because an extension of the South Lansing Pathway west of Waverly Rd would be great, but I just don't see it happening.

I noticed while I was out running today that American Asphalt was laying asphalt for the Bear Lake Pathway. They were doing the section from Wabash north to Forest Rd through the Beekman property. I'm guessing that the section from Wabash south to C…

The Forest/Collins intersection is closed to traffic from all directions now. It had one lane remaining and had been possible to drive through until last week. I ran through there tonight to check it out (sorry no pics). There is still access to the…

The garage went up very quickly. The brick on the Cancer Center looks done on the east and west sides, and it's mostly done on the north side. Forest Rd was supposed to be closed starting June 7th but as of today it still hasn't closed yet.

So driving home yesterday I noticed that it looks like a parking garage is being built behind the Cancer Center (west side of the site). I was under the impression that this was all going to be surface parking because I didn't remember any ramps on …

It makes sense to me because if someone wants a Starbucks they aren't going to be going into the Marriott to get one. Plus there are some non-Starbucks places (like the ones at MSU) where you can't redeem free drinks/food. I'm guessing the Marriott …

I agree on the trees mostly, but I will say that there were a few very large trees that were surprisingly close to the road. There is still one holdout that hasn't been cut down yet but I can't see it surviving the widening of Collins Rd. Hard to te…

Yeah as you head north on Collins from Dunckel the tree-cutting is very noticeable. Approaching the Forest/Collins intersection it is wide open. I can't say that I'm going to be using the on-street bike lanes on Collins with vehicles approaching me …

They are definitely cutting them down along the red line. I drove down there yesterday and it is a lot more wide open. It feels like they may be widening the road but that's just a guess. It will definitely help when they put in the roundabout at Fo…

I've always thought it was weird that one homeowner held out. I can't say that I'd enjoy being surrounded by all that activity and light.

That's a good point about the Club. I can't remember where I read it (it was last year I think) but I remember seeing that the trail extension that was planned to run along the east side of 127 from Forest Rd to Mt Hope was having issues because th…

There is a house on the north side of Forest Rd in front of the Henry Center (3509 Forest Rd). My guess is that it prevented the trail from running on that side of Forest Rd.

Thanks for the Forest/Collins info. I've been wondering if they had decided on a roundabout or signal at that intersection. Last weekend I went for a slow "trail run" down the trail segment being constructed between the Beekman Center and Cavanaugh…

Walking to Beekman Center tonight I noticed a backhoe, bulldozer, and small excavator on the horse trail near where it crosses Wabash. Hopefully that means that construction work starts soon!

That's great news about the Bear Lake pathway. I've been waiting for that to be finished since last winter when they cut a bunch of trees near Forest Rd and the U Club for the trail routing. Any idea what they mean by "Forest Rd Pathway"? Is that so…

I'd seen some of the other QD's had switched over to Mobil gas (Charlotte and Jolly/Dunckel). I found a link on their webpage talking about the switchover. Looks like 7 locations have switched so far. I don't know why they are switching though.

Any idea where TechSmith is talking about putting their new HQ in East Lansing? The WILX story didn't say.

The property at 1624 E. Cavanaugh is interesting to me. I feel like it would be a good location for a trail- or park-focused business to purchase, but that obviously never happened. I'm looking forward to the city possibly being able to purchase thi…
