Especially in a GM town. If I'm remembering right, that means the only Ford Company in Lansing (the city) now is Central Ford Truck. Grand Ledge F-L-M and Courtesy Ford (Okemos) are on the outskirts.

They were already headquartered here in Lansing. Just a few blocks over from where they are moving to.

Grand Rapids is also moving southeast down the M-37 corridor. I can remember driving down it 20 years ago and seeing distinct towns. They now have built up along the road through to about Middleville.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but there's a sign up now for the proposed Annabelle's Pet Station at 600 S. Capitol. Didn't have my camera with me so I couldn't take a pic.

I forgot that a CADL member can request materials from both East Lansing and MSU libraries through the MeLCAt system, so I guess technically they are still connected in a way.
