The story behind Urbandale is that many houses were destroyed by floods, it was much denser, and in better shape. I think the 70's flood really doomed the area, the freeways in that area act as levee's.

I agree, which is why I think that it's important for the city do Washington Sq all the way to 496 ASAP, rather than doing the 200-300 blocks in 2010 and the 400-700 blocks in 2013. To me that's too long given the condition of Washington, especially…

I don't beleive I've ever posted this before, it's the hotel that used to be where Deluxe Inn is now. It was almost as ugly as Deluxe Inn, but at least it was somewhat unique.
