I suggest you all read the development agreement, it's in the council packet. It's not written in legal jargon or anything, it's very clear and easy to understand. It explains all the timeline requirements, building requirements, ect... It was after…

These people aren't just asking questions, their calling to save the existing market and nix the development. They are seriously trying to raise money to do this, and I think its dumb. The current market is defecient in many ways, its interior and s…

Thats exactly what I had in mind. I think its a very realistic possibility too.

There were a couple of articles in this weeks City Pulse on this: For a better Lansing ... for all (OPINION) Apples and oranges The opinion article sounds more like they are disagreeing because of who supports the project, without much cons…

I hope they at least find a way to get a new Central Library and Impression 5 in the reasonably near future.

All they did was buy a huge chunk of land in the middle of nowhere, obviously any plans they have are in the distant future. Besides, their an insurance company they could easily just dump the HQ plans and hold the land as a long-term asset.

I would be suprised to see Auto Owners actually end up moving out there, they may not even want them out there. I really expect them to expand where their at somehow with a slim chance of moving downtown, depending how downtown development goes.

Lmich, I think your underestimating the importance of this project. If it is voted down it dooms Market Place, Ballpark North, the Ampitheater and it could also doom City Center Studios. That altogether screws the Stadium District's progress up. The…

The future of Lansing is teetering on this vote, it will set a tone for awhile and investors and developers will surely take note. I'm very worried, I could write an essay about how I feel about this whole situation. But if I was on council, and thi…

I just upload pics to Photobucket.com and link them here.

I'm glad to see that this project is for real. It will be nice to see it get done.

One thing that disappoints me is that their top choice site plan has the parking lot facing the Shiawassee & Capitol intersection, the most prominent intersection of the Oliver Towers block. Site Plan C is better I think, but it should be mirror…

A couple of construction updates:

And this would be one of the dumbest projects to reject, it will turn a relatively large, blighted area into an important extension of downtown.

Probably something much like the apartments right next to there, or maybe something like what was being proposed for the Dollar site. A 3-4 floor building with ground floor retail. I think Michigan Ave will continue to get denser and denser working …

I'm for the library millage myself. I believe the package of improvements they put together is great, and well worth the money spent. With that being said this is going to be a hard millage to pass.

I don't know of anything specific, but if it appears work is going on someone must be moving in. Now I'm really curious as to who it is.

I don't think the development would feel complete if the Dyslexia Institute stayed, and I don't think Gillespie will leave it there, given a choice. I definately don't want to see that house tore down, either. I really wish they would move it somewh…

Also, has anyone noticed that it looks like Gillespie has aquired all the property for Ballpark North except the old house and the City's Garage? Everything else appears to be vacant now.

I seen something in last weeks building permits about some repairs to that property, not sure what though. I just wish they would tear it down and put it on the market.
