In the City council agenda for this Monday there is something about a proposed development on the west end of Hunters Ridge. They are planning 123 detached condos. This would be the largest development of single family homes in the city in a long ti…

I don't really think it looks that bad. BTW, Abood Properties the developer of West Village is proposing condos on the site just north of here.

Actually Engler, a republican, pushed a lot harder to get the MSP HQ built than Grandholm has. Engler was holding votes literally his last day in office to try to push it through, that was for the joint headquarters that was slated to be as large as…

I'm going to hold my opinion on this until it's done, I just hope they at least replace the ground floor windows.
-
Just recently they put up the first piece of the trim between the first and second floor and it looks great, also they installed some of that fence looking stuff on the roof, I heard that facade construction is suposed to be done in November, then t…

I've been keeping an eye on all this construction and I'm really looking forward to seeing the streetscaped Michigan Ave and reopened N Washington, from what I can tell it will look really nice. The same thing goes for that 5 floor building, I'm sup…

I'm waiting to hear on all the other improvements that are in the Airport's master plan. Things like a freeway offramp right into the airport, an entire new terminal, new hangers a rail head and warehouses for UPS. According to the master plan they …

They said that the Bojis may open a "reincarnated" Majority resturaunt in the Hollister building, not necessarily even under the same name. I doubt we'll know for awhile.

I'm really glad to see those last few buildings in the 100 block be rehabbed, especially Kellys.

Abrams must have been a hangout for the laser light shows that I wish they would bring back.

I am one of those who doesn't venture on campus, mainly because I find it very confusing, I hate curvy streets. Also though, I don't want to deal with all the students during the school year and I have absolutely no reason to go there anyways.

I don't like the Noise either, it pales compared to the City Pulse. I tend to read the LSJ online, check news 6 and news 10, read the City Pulse and occasionally check in on the State News, Community Newspapers and Noise, with all that I think I kee…

The problem is that most people who would like that sort of thing would not want to live in a new subdivision, mixed use or not. They would rather have the "real thing." Thats sort of the way I feel, but only time will tell how successful it will be…

Where exactly are they going to be at and what is a Tim Hortons?
-
Many of the areas in the masterplan are designated mixed use. I beleive this area they are talking about was supposed to be residential over retail, maybe even one of the parking garages.
-
I always expected this development to take 2-3 years to be completed. But once done it will be one of the coolest subdivisions in the Lansing area.

I have mixed feelings about the LSJ, but I can't judge them compared to other newspapers, because I don't read other newspapers. Theres definately room for improvement though.
