  • Could it be that this project is finally moving along?
  • from what i hear this project is "definitely" happening. i'm not sure if it will be the large overall plan that was originally proposed or something more scaled down, but i'm fairly certain that the main building on the corner of grand river and abbott will be at least 10 stories.
  • yeah, I'd say it is moving forward, it's just being kept somewhat quiet right now while the city is trying to acquire additional real estate. I would still say that the previous site plan with many buildings and parking structure is the current site plan.
  • I think what happened with this project was likely similar to what happenned to Stadium District. The developer got too excited and announced the plan in it's infancy. It seems that all the other projects announced in Lansing and EL have went through this phase in secrecy, so that by the time they are announced they are only about a year away from breaking ground.
  • I don't think it is just the developer getting excited, but the municipality who wants to make a good news story for the press. The city governments and planning departments may want to announce good news for their own agendas, which may be on an unrealistic schedule for the developer.
  • Here is a picture of the progress of the MSUFCU headquarters off of Coolidge Rd in East Lansing.

  • I really didn't expect this, but the building next to Quality Dairy at Harrison & Michigan Ave is completely torn down. Here is a picture of what it used to look like:

  • Wow! I wonder what the plans are for that.
  • Maybe they are finally rebuilding or remodling the QD. They really need to, that store in particular needs it more than many. But virtually all the QD's are coming of age and need at least some updating.
  • I haven't seen much discussion on the proposed White Hills Town Center near the old Super Cinemas on Saginaw Hwy.
I finally jotted down the website: http://www.gwtown.com/. From the looks of it, this will be a rather large development.
