At last night's game Spartan basketball game, the U of M proved again that they don't really care about our traditions or history here in Greater Lansing and then to just pretend like they did not know about our traditions and history is ingenuous. We may never be another Ann Arbor with 4-million-dollar condos downtown, I don't think we at the shithole statice "yet", we are a true community where some of us have strong feelings about our city and our university. It really too bad that our leaders seem to have such limited imaginations and are so willing to downsize and submit to rich bullies.
While visiting the Urgent Care at Sparrow I saw an announcement that said they are moving that department to the former Rite Aid on Pennsylvania. I think this is a good move as there may be parking right outside the door rather than having to park in the ramp.
The rehab of the former Rite-Aid store on Penn. and Michigan Ave. looks pretty good. It still has the facade details of the old building, but new windows and doors and a different color make a nicer looking building. The urgent care center in the parking ramp was rather run down and dirty when I had to make a visit so this new center will be a great improvement.
I saw that the construction equipment lot on Michigan at Penn has been cleared now that the road project has been finished. Has U of M said anything about starting construction of their new facilities at that site. I am hoping that these projects are going to happen sooner than later, it would be sad to see those lots on Michigan and the Eastern High site sit empty for years.
