Tiny additional details there about the new sidewalk from the airport to Grand River Avenue.

"The project also includes a new pedestrian walkway along the full length of Capital City Boulevard from Grand River Avenue to the airport terminal. There is currently no sidewalk along that corridor. The authority says the walkway, which will include benches, seating areas and landscaping, will provide a safer route for employees, visitors, airport tenants and people arriving by public transportation."

Though I will say it remains unclear to me how it is that, when the buses go all the way up the airport entrance anyway, a walkway to Grand River Avenue will help people arriving by public transportation.
  • I wonder how many people will use the sidewalk in one year? It would be a better idea to improve the passenger terminal. I have never thought "gee I wish I could walk to the airport".
  • I doubt the sidewalk will get a ton of use but it never the less should be there. Not having sidewalks on city streets, particularly streets without a shoulder, is practically a sin.
