That is interesting. Where did you see that LMich? Could the Residence Inn be part of the large building on the corner, or the rowhouses along Hillcrest?
The Towne Courier posted a news article about the closing of the Country Markett. Brookfield Plaza owner Robert Phipps is in the process of looking for another midsize grocery store to move in to take the place of Country Markett. I am really happy that Phipps is still pursuing another grocery store, especially as an alternative to the much larger grocery stores like Meijer or Kroger.
from what I hear there will be a new business announcing that it will be moving into that location within the next few months. also, in regards to phipps' comments about the status of the previous business owners, his quotes are completely inaccurate...i know this for a fact.
At tomorrows City Council meeting there will be a discussion of every significant project in the city from downtown to the northern tier by Darcy Schmitt and Tim Dempsey. It is expected to run for 45 minutes.
There is a Holiday Inn Express planned for a lot between West Rd and Coolidge Rd in East Lansing. The hotel will be three to four stories tall. Here is a rendering:
