Wow that is awesome to hear! Great way to increase usage of the buses and get people to leave their cars at home.

The cedar-colored (not sure if it will be real cedar) siding on the outside of the building looks beautiful. I wish they covered more of the building with it.

I'd prefer that this be the last one story building on Grand River to go. There are plenty of other places that are prime for development and not architecturally or historically significant.

The Biggby building isn't that notable. It's an old Arby's franchise if I remember right. But it is Biggby's first location, and having grown to the size that they are now I think the building should be landmarked. If Biggby continues to grow, peopl…

Yeah it's odd. It feels secretive and rushed. I wonder if the restaurant there is willing to buy the building?

I'm planning on updating the forum software tonight. Please let me know if you have any issues. I'll post here when it's complete. Thanks, Jared weinjared - at - gmail

Yeah, I was wrong. The most recent ELi article says that the senior housing is still on Albert Ave.

From my memory the Music Building already looks like the illustration. Where are the 37,000 square feet being added?
-
I think the senior housing portion got moved to the building closer to Valley Court Park.

No, I'd rather that city hall stay downtown but build a more dense building with underground parking. A guy can wish lol. But right now they don't have any funds to relocate. But staying downtown will keep some office workers downtown as well as any…

Yeah, they need to apply their form-based zoning in more of the city.

I think they deleted and re-posted it. This link works for me, https://twitter.com/CityofEL/status/1007330996717604864 But yeah, wow that's a great picture to see. I have never seen it like this before. The plaza is so wide there. Was there al…

If "Albert Town Homes 2" is the development proposal you're talking about I think it's pretty much dead/dormant now. EastLansingInfo has a good story on it, https://eastlansinginfo.org/content/downtown-development-proposal-limbo-following-council-in…

I was told to email City Council instead of the City Clerk, and got a response from Patricia Spitzley saying "There was no vote. The purpose was to go over the Development Agreement line by line and ask questions. The next step is to vote to set the…

I sent an email to the City Clerk to ask if there was a vote or any outcome from the presentation. I'll update here when I get a response.

Wow that is very cool. I really like the underground expansions as a way to preserve the character of the building but still let it expand.

I took this picture yesterday while we were driving down Grand River. It's pretty cool to see the tower cranes from so far away, and right now there is really nothing standing next to them so the height is even more pronounced!

Your comment says "A full-time social worker has also been fired for the police department." but I think you meant "hired", not "fired". Another new position will be a full-time social worker in the police department. Lansing Police Chief Mich…
