Great write-up on ELi about the project, of which will go before the city council tonight: http://www.eastlansinginfo.org/content/council-may-make-big-decisions-blighted-area-tonight Staring at the numbers, it just doesn't look like this project …

The old Rally House location will be having a new pizza place opening up there tomorrow. I was surprised by the closing of Conrads. The store there was doing really good business. I was thinking that maybe the owner was planning on getting a bigg…

I think you can try putting spaces on the blank lines between the quotes to separate them. Yeah I don't know why this would only have $18.5 million taxable value. If what they are describing is State Equalized Value then that is normally half of …

Conrad's at the corner of Abbot and Grand River will be closing. A note was posted on their front door. From the looks of it their landlord didn't want to renew their lease. They said they will be looking for another location in downtown. They curre…

It appears that by default the dates get replaced with the month once the month changes? Hovering over the date shows the more specific time. I'll look to see if this can be changed.

I had forgotten what the LSJ building redevelopment plans were. I suppose we should start a thread specific to that now that work is getting started. Are there any specs or designs published? This article was all that I could find: http://www.freep.…

With #10, Homer Street could have a stop sign added for those already traveling on Homer and forcing them to yield to traffic that is exiting 127 North. This is very common in the Detroit area freeways (at least the Lodge and parts of I-75) with ser…

AutoOwners will be using 1/3rd of the former LSJ printing plant for a training facility. The new owner of the building is requesting a tax break from Delta Township to help pay for some of the rehab work. lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/local/201…

Thanks for the details Quakerrocker. The used appliance store isn't too far off from what Discount Dave's used to sell just down the street. I wonder if there is some connection.

I thought the search would be better but you are right, it is missing the ability to filter by topic, title, comment, etc. I don't see a way to enable that yet, and it looks like I may have to write something like that myself.

I think the $67 million here is related to how large the project is. The picture shown is only a small component of the advertised project, which would redevelop a very large plot of land at this corner. I would prefer that this development not h…

Megabus is now saying that they are ending their service in East Lansing due to a lack of demand. Amtrak and Greyhound offer competing service to Chicago and Greyhound offers service to Detroit. It's a shame that Megabus is leaving. I preferred thei…

I just noticed that the mobile view of the site is a lot better now. No need to zoom in and zoom out of the page.

The site is now running the latest version of the forum software we have been using all along. We should get some nice updates with this, for example the search should work a lot better now. A couple notes so far: * You may need to reset you…

Thank you, I have now gotten the /forum link fixed. Both /forum and / will now redirect to /discussions.

The website update didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. You may need to use the Forgot Password feature to reset your password.

I think it is not as simple as that. If a hotel developer wants to build their hotel without incentives, it might cost them $5 million for example. But if the hotel developer knew that they could wait two years and it would only cost them $1 million…

Over the next 48 hours the website hosting will be migrating to an updated server platform in preparation for enabling HTTPS. Please let me know if you spot any issues

Yeah, reduced parking with showing the ticket stub would work ($5 or $3 per day). It is nice to give people an incentive to take the bus or Uber/Lyft to get to the station.
