  • Amtrak will move in to the station next week on Monday. The last train to leave the old Amtrak station will be the 8:45am Blue Water line to Chicago, and the first train to leave the new station will be the 8:54pm Blue Water line to Port Huron.
  • @gbinlansing, it looks like your comment above was meant for the General Lansing thread.
  • Inovalon replaced Burlington Coat Factory, which had the western half of the building.
  • It's not a fair 1:1 comparison, but East Lansing has their city council, government, district court, and police station all in one building and its a pretty small one. Does Lansing really need 400,000 sq ft? I imagine the building would probably be …
  • In reply to david_shane, (But you know I noticed walking around downtown Chicago recently - even very close to the city center you can find some small surface level parking lots. How exactly that makes economic sense... maybe there is some zoning …
  • I would really prefer that the lot at the corner of Grand and Michigan Ave (along with the Walter Neller building) be used to build this if they were to build new. That's a pretty disappointing corner of downtown as people come from the east.
  • Amtrak signed a lease for the new space two weeks ago, but they are still a few weeks out from moving in as they need to coordinate their move and make sure it is all timed right (phones hooked up with no outages in between, etc). Once Amtrak moves,…
  • I like the design too, but I wish that construction of the project would also move the utility lines underground and install a nicer light at the intersection instead of one hanging by wires. I thought it was kinda funny that the rendering including…
  • Note that the LSJ rendering is dated 2014 but the rendering hood included above is dated 2015. I'm not sure why the LSJ went with the older rendering, unless they found out that the previous design is now being used.
  • Wow, that is nowhere close to Lansing Eastern. It would be nice if a public indoor pool could be built attached to Don Johnson Fieldhouse. I think East Lansing's swim team swims at McDonald Middle School at the corner of Burcham and Hagadorn (about …
  • What does Lansing ESE mean? Is that some abbreviation for Lansing Eastern?
  • @hood, there isn't a built-in way to resize the pictures. I would recommend saving them locally, resizing them, and uploading them to your own hosting. That way they will stay online even after Neumann Smith takes them down
  • The garage that MSU built on Michigan Ave has a full floor underground, as well as the MSU garage connected to the MSU CATA Transportation Center.
  • Very cool, thanks for the links to the webcams hood. Looks like the parking garage isn't getting any underground floors? Watching the timelapse of what I think is the parking garage showed no digging and just vertical beams being constructed from th…
  • Here's to hoping that the current 15% cap isn't renewed in 2016/2017 for more years.
  • Lol looking back through the comments on the page I see hood already said the same thing. Between these two developments and Whole Foods eventually opening at some point this stretch of Grand River may feel a bit different.
  • The site plan in the brownfield article is a bit different than the one in the Scott Chapelle article. Also, the brownfield article mentions Campus Village but nothing about Chapelle. I'm interested in learning more about the connection there.
  • Firefox has a built in PDF reader that can be enabled by going to the preferences, applications, selecting PDF and choosing Preview In Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/view-pdf-files-firefox-without-downloading-them#w_using-the-built…
  • Back hoe?
  • The Lansing State Journal is going to move in to the Knapps Centre, taking a 20,000 sq ft lease on the third floor. The Eydes bought their current building (87,000 sq ft) a couple weeks ago and are planning on converting it to a mixed-use building w…
