  • I drove by the old Dad's Inn this morning and I noticed a banner covering their sign next to the highway. It said that UHAUL was going to be moving in there. Has anyone seen anything about that?
  • McLaren was limited by the State with a two mile radius from their Pennsylvania campus, not three. This location was as far as they could move it to the east. I remember from previous discussions on here that McLaren is aiming to get more traffic fr…
  • That sounds really interesting! Looking forward to trying it when it opens.
  • Yes the Causeway Bay was called Holiday Inn South in the late 90's/early 2000's. We had a few work Christmas parties there.
  • I was on Trowbridge yesterday morning and I noticed that they had started tearing down the old Howard Johnson's.
  • Also, has anyone heard what is going on at Consumers Concrete on Malcolm X St? For the past month they have been cleaning up their lot. A bunch of stacked blocks were bulldozed together and removed. The back portion of their lot is also showing sign…
  • Not a huge thing but it was announced yesterday that Culver's is building a new store near the South Penn Meijer. http://www.wilx.com/content/news/Culvers-coming-to-south-Lansing-439958333.html
  • Yes the students will be moving in for the Fall 17 semester. Athletics and RHS staff will be moving in in October and November. Here's the project page from MSU listing the dates: http://ipf.msu.edu/construction/projects/1855-place.html
  • I love that Georgio's. I still go in there and have been since it was Arby's. :-(
  • My understanding is that if Lot 2 is torn down nothing can be built there because of it's location in the floodplain. The floodplain location is another reason that the servers in the Computer Center are moving to the new data center.
  • But I've seen this stuff all my life too. I grew up on a dirt road that was the county line between Eaton and Barry counties. Neither really showed much interest in maintaining it, especially in the winter.
  • Yeah I'm pretty sure that the U Club is separately owned and not part of MSU. The Lansing part of Forest Rd is much nicer than the East Lansing part. A few problems in the bike lanes but overall pretty good for one of the older bike lanes in the cit…
  • I was impressed. I had low expectations but it's worked for me every time. Plus it's nice to be able to take a picture so they can see the issue.
  • I've had good luck with the City of Lansing app in the Amazon/Google store. Very quick response from that as well. I've used it to report street lights and traffic lights that are out.
  • I'll just be happy if this amounts to something after a couple failed projects there.
  • That's good to hear about the sidewalk on Dunckel. I'd like to see at least one side of Aurelius with sidewalks between Mt Hope and Cavanaugh next. I remember reading on the city's website that their current funding level only allows for a half-mile…
  • Those are new bicycles in the truck blocking the bike lane. :-) If I remember right that was part of the route that was under consideration for the River Trail to Frandor segment instead of bike lanes on Michigan. Hopefully this is the first step…
  • The South Lansing Starbucks is open. I found out that they actually opened on Thursday while I was talking to the baristas on Friday night. It looks like they are keeping the tall three-sided sign and it's been converted to LED's. It was lit really…
  • You're welcome @hood. I can't even picture how the revisions to Shaw will affect traffic. I'll just have to wait to see I guess.
  • It looks like Crescent will connect to the Commuter Lot (Lot 89) and not Recycling Dr, which is on the other side of the train tracks. It's still kind of weird though because it will go through the Ag Expo site. I'm happy to see the entrance to the …
